Clobazam falls under CNS DEPRESSANTS — the group Yin Chen interacts with.

Theoretically, yin chen might enhance the therapeutic and adverse effects of other CNS depressants.
Animal research shows that yin chen has sedative effects and can reduce motor activity and impair balance and coordination. When used in combination with pentobarbital, yin chen increases sleeping time when compared to pentobarbital alone.

Here's the simple version: Clobazam already calms down brain activity, which is exactly how it helps with seizures. Yin Chen, at least in animal studies, seems to have its own calming, sedative-like effect. Put the two together and you may end up with more drowsiness than you bargained for, things like extra sleepiness, dizziness, foggy thinking, or feeling unsteady on your feet.

I want to be honest about the evidence though. This concern comes only from lab and animal research, not from studies in people, so it's more of a 'be aware' than a 'definitely will happen.' Still, since Clobazam is a serious seizure medicine, I'd run any Yin Chen use past your doctor or pharmacist first rather than guessing.

What Is Clobazam Used For?

Clobazam is used as an add-on (adjunctive) treatment for seizures linked to Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome (LGS), a severe form of childhood-onset epilepsy. It is approved for patients 2 years of age and older.

This indication applies to all available forms: Sympazan (dissolving oral film), Onfi (tablets and oral suspension), and generic clobazam tablets and oral suspension.
