Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
This product contains 17 ingredients, including multiple live-organism probiotic bacterial strains: Lactobacillus acidophilus (also listed as DDS-1), Lactobacillus salivarius, Bifidobacterium longum infantis, Lactobacillus plantarum, Bifidobacterium longum, Bifidobacterium bifidum, Lactobacillus bulgaricus, Lactobacillus casei, Bifidobacterium animalis lactis, Streptococcus thermophilus, Lactobacillus brevis, Lactobacillus rhamnosus, Lactobacillus reuteri, Bacillus coagulans, and Lactococcus lactis. It also contains Frutafit (inulin), a fiber that may help feed beneficial bacteria in your gut.
The inactive ingredients are maltodextrin, gelatin, magnesium stearate, and silica.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
Evidence for most of these strains is limited or mixed. Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium bifidum each show possibly effective ratings for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), and L. acidophilus is possibly effective for antibiotic-associated diarrhea, bacterial vaginosis, and Helicobacter pylori infection.
Bacillus coagulans is possibly effective for constipation and IBS. Inulin (Frutafit) is possibly effective for obesity, constipation, and diabetes.
For most other claimed uses — allergic rhinitis, asthma, anxiety, cognitive decline, athletic performance, and many others — the evidence we hold isn't established enough to rate. Your individual results will depend on which condition you're targeting and which strain may help most.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
These probiotics are generally well tolerated in healthy adults and children. The most common side effects are mild and gastrointestinal: bloating, flatulence, abdominal discomfort, and diarrhea, though these occur rarely.
Inulin commonly causes gas and bloating, especially at higher doses. In rare cases, live-organism probiotics have been associated with serious infections (bacteremia, sepsis) in critically ill or severely immunocompromised patients — particularly preterm infants and those with central lines or weakened immune systems — but such cases are not common in otherwise healthy people with intact immune function.
One clinical trial reported rash and itching in a small number of participants taking a probiotic combination, though it's unclear whether the probiotics caused these effects. If you're severely ill or immunocompromised, talk to your doctor before starting.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Take this product several hours away from antibiotic drugs (Moderate severity) — antibiotics can kill the live organisms in this supplement and make it less effective. If you take diabetes medications, ask your pharmacist whether the inulin in this product could increase your risk of low blood sugar.
Run any other medications through the checker on this page.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
This high-potency probiotic blend may help with IBS, constipation, or antibiotic-associated diarrhea if those conditions match your need. The biggest thing to watch is timing with antibiotics — you'll need to separate doses.
If you take diabetes medications, mention this product to your pharmacist. It's generally well tolerated, though expect some gas or bloating, especially at the start.
Chat with your pharmacist before you start, especially if you're seriously ill or have a weakened immune system.

50 Billion Probiotic Max + by Harmonia Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Harmonia's 50 Billion Probiotic Max + contains several bacterial strains that interact with antibiotic drugs.
The most serious concern involves multiple live-organism probiotics — Lactobacillus acidophilus, Bifidobacterium longum, Bifidobacterium bifidum, and Bacillus coagulans — each of which may see reduced effectiveness if taken at the same time as antibiotics (Moderate severity). Since these probiotic preparations contain live, active organisms, antibiotics can kill a significant number of them.
You'll want to space out doses: take your antibiotic several hours apart from this supplement, or ask your doctor or pharmacist for the best timing.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Additionally, Frutafit (inulin) in this product may theoretically increase the risk of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) when combined with diabetes medications (Minor severity), though the evidence that inulin actually causes low blood sugar is unclear.
We were unable to check several ingredients — Lactobacillus salivarius, Lactobacillus plantarum, Lactobacillus bulgaricus, Lactobacillus casei, Bifidobacterium animalis lactis, Lactobacillus brevis, Lactobacillus rhamnosus, Lactobacillus reuteri, and Lactococcus lactis — because we don't hold interaction data for them.
Altogether, these interactions span 267 individual medications. Use the medication checker on this page to look up your exact drugs.

Lactobacillus acidophilus
Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking Lactobacillus acidophilus with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of L. acidophilus.
L. acidophilus preparations usually contain live and active organisms. Therefore, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and L. acidophilus preparations by at least two hours.
Bifidobacterium longum infantis
Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking Bifidobacterium longum with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of B. longum.
Since B. longum preparations usually contain live and active organisms, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and B. longum preparations by at least 2 hours.
Bifidobacterium bifidum
Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking Bifidobacterium. bifidum with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of B. bifidum.
Since B. bifidum preparations usually contain live and active organisms, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and B. bifidum preparations by at least 2 hours.
Bacillus coagulans
Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking antibiotics with Bacillus coagulans might decrease the effectiveness of B. coagulans.
B. coagulans preparations usually contain live and active organisms. Therefore, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and B. coagulans preparations by at least two hours.
Frutafit
Antidiabetes Drugs
Theoretically, inulin might increase the risk of hypoglycemia with antidiabetes drugs.
Some clinical research shows that inulin improves glycemic control in patients with diabetes; however, it is unclear if it has hypoglycemic effects.
