Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
This product contains 6 active ingredients: Fructooligosaccharides (a prebiotic fiber that feeds beneficial bacteria), Lactobacillus paracasei Lpc-37, Lactobacillus acidophilus LA-14, Marine Polysaccharide Complex, Lactobacillus plantarum Lp-115, and Bifidobacterium animalis lactis Bl-04. Together they deliver 80 billion colony-forming units (CFU) of live probiotic bacteria per serving.
The inactive ingredients are hypromellose (the capsule material), L-leucine, and rice maltodextrin.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The evidence for what this probiotic does depends on which strain and condition we're talking about. Lactobacillus acidophilus is possibly effective for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), antibiotic-associated diarrhea, Helicobacter pylori infection, and bacterial vaginosis.
For the other bacterial strains in this blend — and for the prebiotic fiber (Fructooligosaccharides) — the evidence we hold isn't established yet. The data on whether FOS helps with osteoporosis, constipation, diabetes, travelers' diarrhea, or high cholesterol shows insufficient evidence to rate.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Lactobacillus acidophilus is generally well tolerated in healthy adults and children. The most common side effects from the probiotic bacteria are mild gastrointestinal symptoms — abdominal pain, bloating, flatulence, and diarrhea — though these are uncommon.
Fructooligosaccharides can cause gas, bloating, and abdominal pain, especially at higher doses, but studies show that doses under 10 grams a day are generally mild. One note: live probiotics carry a theoretical risk of infection in people with severely compromised immune systems, though this is rare.
The safety data for Lactobacillus acidophilus in pregnancy is rated possibly safe; however, data on the other bacterial strains in this product aren't on file. Talk with your doctor or pharmacist before use if you're pregnant or breastfeeding.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before you take this product, double-check if you're on antibiotic drugs (Moderate severity) — the antibiotics can reduce how well the probiotic works. Ask your pharmacist or doctor whether you should separate the timing of your antibiotics and this supplement.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with some supporting evidence behind its ingredients' uses. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
This probiotic is a reasonable choice if you're looking to support gut health, especially for IBS or antibiotic-related diarrhea. If you're on antibiotics, space them apart from this product so the antibiotic doesn't kill the live bacteria.
Check your specific medications with the tool on this page, and if you have a weakened immune system or are pregnant, run it by your pharmacist first.

Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking Lactobacillus acidophilus with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of L. acidophilus.
L. acidophilus preparations usually contain live and active organisms. Therefore, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and L. acidophilus preparations by at least two hours.
