What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: apple cider vinegar at 600 mg per tablet. It also includes vegetable cellulose and minor additional excipients (binders and capsule material).
Does it work?
Couldn't assess
The evidence isn't established in our data for any of apple cider vinegar's claimed uses — acne, athletic performance, cognitive function, dental plaque, depression, and atopic dermatitis (eczema) all show insufficient reliable evidence to rate. That doesn't mean it doesn't work; it means the research so far isn't robust enough to say either way.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
In food amounts, apple cider vinegar is well tolerated and generally safe. At medicinal doses taken by mouth and short-term, it also seems well tolerated.
However, large or long-term supplement doses haven't been well studied, and extended use at high levels has caused serious problems in rare cases — including low potassium, elevated renin levels (a kidney hormone), and bone loss (osteoporosis). One documented case involved 250 mL daily for 6 years.
Topically (on skin), apple cider vinegar can cause chemical burns and irritation, even from brief application. There isn't enough safety data on file for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding — talk with your doctor or pharmacist for personalized advice if you're pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Check your medications before taking this — especially digoxin (Lanoxin) or any heart medication, diuretics (water pills), insulin, and diabetes drugs. Altogether, these interactions span 162 individual medications.
If you take any blood pressure or heart medication, or manage diabetes or take a water pill, confirm it's okay with your doctor or pharmacist first.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no assessable stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
This product is best reserved for people who want to try apple cider vinegar in a concentrated form and have no kidney issues, heart conditions, or diabetes — or aren't already on a diuretic or digoxin. If you take any of those medications or conditions apply to you, check with your own doctor or pharmacist before starting.
The evidence for what apple cider vinegar actually does isn't strong yet, and long-term heavy use carries real risks.

Apple Cider Vinegar 600 mg by Puritan's Pride Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Puritan's Pride Apple Cider Vinegar 600 mg does interact with several medication types, and the main concern involves low potassium (hypokalemia).
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Apple cider vinegar can theoretically lower potassium levels, which is most serious when you're taking digoxin (Lanoxin), a heart medication. Low potassium can make digoxin toxic to your heart — a Moderate severity interaction.
The same low-potassium risk applies to diuretics (water pills) and insulin, both also Moderate severity. A case has been reported of someone who developed dangerously low potassium from long-term heavy use of apple cider vinegar.
Another concern is antidiabetes drugs (blood sugar medications). Apple cider vinegar may lower blood sugar on its own, so combining it with diabetes medications could increase your risk of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) — a Minor severity interaction.
Additionally, we could not verify interactions with other medication classes. Run your exact medications through the search tool on this page before you start.
