HelloPharmacist Scorecard of Apple Cider Vinegar Tablets by Vitamin World
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: apple cider vinegar, a fermented liquid made from apples. The inactive ingredients are dicalcium phosphate, vegetable cellulose, stearic acid, silica, and vegetable magnesium stearate — these are tablet binders and fillers that help hold the pill together.
Does it work?
Couldn't assess
The evidence for apple cider vinegar is not established for the uses listed in our data. Effectiveness ratings show insufficient reliable evidence to rate it for acne, athletic performance, cognitive function, dental plaque, depression, and atopic dermatitis (eczema).
That means the research either isn't there yet or doesn't agree. We can't tell you whether this product will work for any of these purposes based on the evidence we hold.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
In small amounts — like what you'd use in food — apple cider vinegar is well tolerated when taken by mouth short-term. However, larger supplement doses or long-term use may not be safe.
The most serious concern is with very high daily amounts or extended use: cases have been reported of low blood potassium (hypokalemia), elevated renin levels, and osteoporosis after years of heavy daily intake. Food amounts are likely fine, but if you're considering supplement doses, talk to your doctor first.
If applied directly to skin undiluted, apple cider vinegar may cause chemical burns, skin irritation, and erosion.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before you start, double-check with your doctor or pharmacist if you take digoxin (a heart medication) — apple cider vinegar may increase its toxicity risk by lowering potassium. You should also clear it if you're on diuretics (water pills) or insulin, since combined use raises hypokalemia risk (low blood potassium).
If you take diabetes medications, let them know, because apple cider vinegar might lower blood sugar further.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no assessable stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Apple Cider Vinegar Tablets might be worth a try if you're interested in exploring vinegar supplements — but only in food-like amounts and short-term. The real caution is if you take digoxin, diuretics, insulin, or diabetes medications; those interactions are documented and need your doctor's or pharmacist's review first.
Long-term or high-dose use isn't backed by safety data, so check with your healthcare provider before committing to these tablets.

Apple Cider Vinegar Tablets by Vitamin World Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Apple Cider Vinegar Tablets by Vitamin World contain one active ingredient — apple cider vinegar — which interacts with several important medication types.
The most serious concern is with digoxin (Lanoxin), a heart medication: apple cider vinegar may lower potassium levels, and potassium depletion can increase the risk of digoxin toxicity and heart problems.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Diuretics (water pills) and insulin also carry Moderate-severity interactions. Apple cider vinegar may lower potassium when used together with potassium-depleting diuretics, raising the risk of low blood potassium (hypokalemia).
Similarly, combined use with insulin may increase hypokalemia risk. Additionally, diabetes medications (antidiabetes drugs) have a Minor-severity interaction — apple cider vinegar might lower blood sugar levels further, increasing the risk of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia).
Altogether, these interactions span 162 individual medications. If you take any of these drug types — or any other prescription medication — run your exact medications through the checker on this page before starting.

Digoxin (Lanoxin)
Theoretically, concomitant use of apple cider vinegar with digoxin might increase the risk of cardiac toxicity.
A case of hypokalemia related to chronic use of apple cider vinegar has been reported. Theoretically, overuse of apple cider vinegar could decrease potassium levels, increasing the risk of toxicity with digoxin.
Diuretic Drugs
Theoretically, concomitant use of apple cider vinegar with diuretic drugs might increase the risk of hypokalemia.
A case of hypokalemia related to chronic use of apple cider vinegar has been reported. There is some concern that people taking apple cider vinegar along with potassium depleting diuretics might have an increased risk for hypokalemia.
Insulin
Theoretically, concomitant use of apple cider vinegar with insulin might increase the risk of hypokalemia.
A case of hypokalemia related to chronic use of apple cider vinegar has been reported. Theoretically, overuse of apple cider vinegar concomitantly with insulin might increase the risk of hypokalemia.
Antidiabetes Drugs
Theoretically, taking apple cider vinegar with antidiabetes drugs might increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
Apple cider vinegar might reduce fasting and postprandial blood glucose levels and decrease gastric emptying in people with diabetes. However, not all research agrees. Theoretically, it might have additive effects on glucose levels when used with antidiabetes drugs.
