The evidence here is mixed. Citrus pectin is rated possibly effective for high cholesterol (hypercholesterolemia), though the evidence for prediabetes and radiation exposure is not established.
Beta-sitosterol is likely effective for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH)—enlarged prostate—and possibly effective for familial high cholesterol and coronary heart disease. We hold no effectiveness data for stigmasterol or campesterol.

Citrus pectin is generally well tolerated, though some people experience gas, loose stools, diarrhea, or mild cramping. Allergic reactions are rare but possible, even severe ones in sensitive individuals.
Beta-sitosterol is generally well tolerated short-term in adults but can cause constipation, diarrhea, gas, indigestion, nausea, or reduced appetite. There's a rare case report of acute pancreatitis linked to beta-sitosterol, and it may worsen acne in some people.
