BiotixPlus+ Ingredients & Drug Interactions
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking BiotixPlus+ against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
BiotixPlus+ has 3 active ingredients: Bacillus Coagulans (a live probiotic), Bacillus clausii (another beneficial microorganism), and Prebiotic Preticx Xylooligosaccharides (a type of plant-derived fiber that helps feed the good bacteria in your gut). The softgel capsule also contains several inactive ingredients — gelatin, flaxseed oil, glycerin, and a few others — that help hold everything together and keep it stable.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The evidence here is mixed. Bacillus Coagulans has been rated possibly effective for constipation and possibly effective for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
For other uses — antibiotic-associated diarrhea, athletic performance, cancer, and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease — the evidence simply isn't strong enough to rate it either way. We don't have effectiveness ratings on file for the other two active ingredients in this product.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Bacillus Coagulans is generally well tolerated in healthy adults, though the evidence and quality of probiotic products vary. The safety data isn't extensive, so talk to your doctor before using this product, especially if you have a weakened immune system, a central catheter or other indwelling device, are very ill, or are a preterm infant.
In those situations, live probiotic organisms can rarely cause serious infections like bacteremia or sepsis. Healthy people with intact immune systems face much lower risk, but limited safety information means checking with your doctor or pharmacist first is a good idea.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Check your antibiotic medications before adding BiotixPlus+ to your routine. Bacillus Coagulans can lose effectiveness if you take antibiotics at the same time, so you'll need to space them apart.
We couldn't check the other active ingredients in this product for interactions.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
BiotixPlus+ may help with constipation or IBS symptoms if you have a healthy immune system and no indwelling medical devices. Space it away from antibiotics — don't take them at the same time.
If you're severely ill, immunocompromised, or have a central catheter, talk to your doctor before starting. Run your medications through our checker first.

BiotixPlus+ by U.S. Doctors' Clinical Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
BiotixPlus+ by U.S.
Doctors' Clinical contains one ingredient we've checked for interactions: Bacillus Coagulans, a live probiotic organism. It has a documented Moderate interaction with antibiotics.
Because Bacillus Coagulans is made up of living microorganisms, taking antibiotics at the same time can kill off a large number of them and reduce the probiotic's effectiveness. The solution is straightforward: space out your antibiotic doses and this supplement — don't take them together.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
We couldn't check the other two active ingredients — Prebiotic Preticx Xylooligosaccharides and Bacillus clausii — because we hold no interaction data for them. That doesn't mean they don't interact; it just means we haven't evaluated them.
Altogether, these interactions span 182 individual medications. Before you start BiotixPlus+, run your exact antibiotics through the medication checker on this page to see if any of yours are on the list.

Theoretically, taking Lactobacillus acidophilus with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of L. acidophilus.
L. acidophilus preparations usually contain live and active organisms. Therefore, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and L. acidophilus preparations by at least two hours.
