What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product is a single-ingredient powder made from blueberries. There are no inactive fillers or added ingredients listed—you're getting blueberry and nothing else.
Does it work?
Couldn't assess
The evidence on blueberry powder is mixed. For high blood pressure (hypertension), the data rates it possibly ineffective.
For age-related cognitive decline, anxiety, athletic performance, high cholesterol (hyperlipidemia), and heart disease, there isn't enough reliable evidence yet to know whether it works. The facts we hold don't show a proven benefit for any of these conditions.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Blueberries as food are generally well tolerated and widely eaten without concern. In supplement form, freeze-dried blueberries may cause constipation, diarrhea, nausea, or vomiting—and in one trial, over a quarter of people taking 50 grams daily stopped within the first week due to stomach upset.
For pregnancy and breastfeeding, eating blueberries as food is fine, but concentrated supplements like this powder haven't been well studied in either situation. Talk with your doctor or pharmacist about whether it's right for you if you're pregnant or nursing.
Meds to double-check
Minor interactions only
If you take antidiabetes drugs (insulin, sulfonylureas, metformin, or similar), watch for signs of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia). Also double-check before using this if you take flurbiprofen (Ansaid) or buspirone (BuSpar), as blueberry may raise their levels.
Talk with your doctor or pharmacist about your full medication list first.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no assessable stated purpose. Only minor medication interactions are documented, and safety information is well characterized.
Blueberry juice powder is generally well tolerated if your stomach can handle it, but the evidence for most health claims isn't there yet. If you take an antidiabetes drug, flurbiprofen, or buspirone, check with your doctor or pharmacist before starting—the interactions are minor but real.
For everyone else, the main risk is digestive upset at higher doses.

Blueberry, Powder monograph & interactionsBlueberry Juice Powder by TerraVita Premium Collection Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
TerraVita Premium Collection Blueberry Juice Powder contains one active ingredient—blueberry powder—which has documented interactions with certain medications.
The most serious concern is with antidiabetes drugs (like insulin and sulfonylureas), where there's a minor-severity risk that blueberry may lower blood sugar further and increase the chance of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia). Animal and lab research suggests blueberries can reduce blood glucose levels, though human evidence is limited.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Blueberry juice may also slow the breakdown of flurbiprofen (Ansaid), a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug, potentially raising its blood levels—and similarly may increase buspirone (BuSpar) levels by inhibiting liver enzymes. Both interactions are rated minor severity.
Lab work shows these effects are plausible, though human studies on the juice have produced mixed results at typical juice doses.
Altogether, these interactions span 88 individual medications. If you take antidiabetes drugs, an NSAID like flurbiprofen, or buspirone, run your exact medications through the checker on this page before starting the powder.

For each ingredient in Blueberry Juice Powder with known interactions, here are the types of medications it can affect. Open any type for the detail — or search your exact drug in the checker above.
Blueberry, Powder
Antidiabetes Drugs
Theoretically, blueberries or blueberry leaf extracts might increase the risk of hypoglycemia when taken with antidiabetes drugs.
Animal and in vitro research suggests that blueberry and/or blueberry leaf extracts can lower blood glucose levels.
Buspirone (Buspar)
Theoretically, blueberry juice might increase blood levels of buspirone.
In vitro research shows that blueberry juice can inhibit the metabolism of buspirone, possibly by inhibiting cytochrome P450 3A (CYP3A) enzymes. However, pharmacokinetic research in humans shows that drinking 300 mL of blueberry juice 30 minutes before taking buspirone hydrochloride 10 mg does not significantly affect the concentration or clearance of buspirone.
Flurbiprofen (Ansaid, Others)
Theoretically, blueberry juice might increase blood levels of flurbiprofen.
In vitro research shows that blueberry juice can inhibit the metabolism of flurbiprofen, possibly by inhibiting cytochrome P450 2C9 (CYP2C9) enzymes. However, pharmacokinetic research in humans shows that drinking 300 mL of blueberry juice 30 minutes before taking flurbiprofen 100 mg does not significantly affect the concentration or clearance of flurbiprofen.
