Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: potassium, a mineral your body needs for heart rhythm, nerve function, and muscle contraction. It's delivered here in chelated form bonded to gluconic acid, a formulation meant to aid absorption.
The tablet also contains three inactive ingredients — vegetable cellulose, vegetable stearic acid, and silica — which are binders and flow agents that hold the pill together and help it dissolve.
Does it work?
Couldn't assess
The product facts we hold do not include effectiveness ratings for potassium gluconate. Potassium is an essential nutrient, and your body gets some from food; whether a supplement is right for you depends on your blood levels and your doctor's assessment, not on general trial evidence.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Potassium is generally well tolerated when taken by mouth. The most common side effects are mild: abdominal discomfort, belching, diarrhea, gas, nausea, and vomiting.
Serious problems are rare but can happen if potassium builds up to dangerous levels — these include irregular heartbeats, heart block, low blood pressure, and mental confusion. High potassium is especially risky if you have kidney disease, because your kidneys can't excrete it properly.
The product facts note that potassium from food is fine during pregnancy and breastfeeding, but supplements should only be used under medical guidance in both situations. Before taking this supplement while pregnant or nursing, talk with your doctor or pharmacist about whether you need it and what dose is right for you.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before you take this product, double-check with your doctor or pharmacist if you're on a potassium-sparing diuretic, an ACE inhibitor, or an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB). All three are rated Moderate risk for dangerously high blood potassium.
These medications are common for blood pressure and heart conditions, so confirm your exact drugs before starting.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no assessable stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Potassium supplements can be helpful for people whose blood levels are genuinely low, but they're not a casual add-on — especially if you take blood-pressure or heart medications. If you're on an ACE inhibitor, ARB, or any potassium-sparing diuretic, your doctor needs to weigh in before you start.
Chat with your pharmacist or doctor about whether you actually need a supplement or whether dietary sources and monitoring are enough.

Chelated Potassium Gluconate by Wonder Laboratories Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Chelated Potassium Gluconate by Wonder Laboratories interacts with several important blood-pressure and heart medications.
The most serious concerns involve potassium-sparing diuretics (water pills that retain potassium), ACE inhibitors, and angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs) — all are rated Moderate severity. When you combine potassium supplements with any of these, your blood potassium can climb too high, a condition called hyperkalemia that can trigger irregular heartbeats, low blood pressure, and heart block.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
ACE inhibitors and ARBs work by blocking a system that normally helps your kidneys excrete potassium. When you add a potassium supplement on top, the risk of dangerously high levels goes up.
Potassium-sparing diuretics have the same effect — they're designed to hold onto potassium, so a supplement pushes levels even higher. Altogether, these interactions span 62 individual medications.
If you take any water pill (especially ones that spare potassium), an ACE inhibitor, or an ARB, do not start a potassium supplement without checking with your doctor or pharmacist first. They may adjust your dose, monitor your levels, or recommend dietary potassium instead.

Potassium
Ace Inhibitors (Aceis)
Using ACEIs with high doses of potassium increases the risk of hyperkalemia.
ACEIs block the actions of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system and reduce potassium excretion. Concomitant use of these drugs with potassium supplements increases the risk of hyperkalemia. However, concomitant use of these drugs with moderate dietary potassium intake (about 3775-5200 mg daily) does not increase serum potassium levels.
Angiotensin Receptor Blockers (Arbs)
Using ARBs with high doses of potassium increases the risk of hyperkalemia.
ARBs block the actions of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system and reduce potassium excretion. Concomitant use of these drugs with potassium supplements increases the risk of hyperkalemia. However, concomitant use of these drugs with moderate dietary potassium intake (about 3775-5200 mg daily) does not increase serum potassium levels.
Potassium-Sparing Diuretics
Concomitant use increases the risk of hyperkalemia.
Using potassium-sparing diuretics with potassium supplements increases the risk of hyperkalemia.
