This product has three active ingredients. Protease and lactase are both enzymes — proteins that help your body break down food.
Lactase specifically helps you digest milk sugar (lactose). Adenosine triphosphate (ATP) is a molecule your cells use for energy.
The capsule also contains organic rice, medium-chain triglycerides, and capsule material as inactive ingredients.
Does it work?
Strong evidence
Lactase is effective for lactose intolerance — it helps your body digest milk products if you have trouble with them. The evidence isn't established in our data for lactase's use in colic or prematurity.
Adenosine triphosphate is listed as effective for certain heart rhythm problems (paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia) and for cardiac stress testing, but those are clinical uses with the prescription injectable form given by doctors in a hospital or office, not oral supplement use. The safety and effectiveness of taking ATP as an oral supplement haven't been thoroughly evaluated.
There's no effectiveness data on file for protease in this form.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Protease and lactase are generally well tolerated by most adults. However, rarely, people can develop allergies to protease — occupational exposure to airborne protease has caused allergic rhinitis and asthma in some workers, and case reports exist of contact dermatitis and allergic rhinitis from powdered lactase.
Both can occasionally cause digestive upset. Adenosine triphosphate has limited safety data as an oral supplement — the prescription injectable form used in hospitals can cause chest pain, dizziness, shortness of breath, flushing, headache, and low blood pressure, but oral or intramuscular use hasn't been thoroughly studied.
Safety in pregnancy is not established for protease or adenosine triphosphate; lactase is likely safe in pregnancy. For breastfeeding, lactase has limited data but acts only in the gut; protease and adenosine triphosphate lack sufficient safety information.

Adenosine triphosphate carries a Major interaction with dipyridamole (Persantine), a heart medication. Dipyridamole slows how your body breaks down adenosine, which can cause dizziness, a slow heartbeat, or fainting.
If you take dipyridamole, you'll need to stop it several days before using this product. There's also a Moderate interaction with carbamazepine (Tegretol), an anti-seizure drug — both can affect your heart rhythm, and using them together may raise the risk of heart block.
Adenosine triphosphate also has a Minor interaction with methylxanthines — that's caffeine, aminophylline, and theophylline — which can block adenosine's effects in your body. You should avoid these for 24 hours before using this supplement.

Adenosine Triphosphate
Dipyridamole (Persantine)
Dipyridamole can increase the therapeutic and toxic effects of adenosine.
Dipyridamole decreases the metabolism of adenosine. Intravenous infusion of adenosine in patients who are taking dipyridamole can cause dizziness, bradycardia, and syncope. Dipyridamole should be discontinued for several days prior to a cardiac stress test using adenosine.
Carbamazepine (Tegretol)
Carbamazepine might increase the risk of heart block when used concomitantly with adenosine.
Carbamazepine and adenosine can both cause heart block. Giving them concurrently might produce an additive effect.
Methylxanthines
Methylxanthines are competitive antagonists of adenosine and can block its pharmacologic effects.
The methylxanthines, aminophylline, caffeine, and theophylline, can block the effects of adenosine by acting as competitive antagonists at adenosine cell surface receptors. It is recommended that methylxanthines be avoided for 24 hours prior to cardiac stress tests.
