Enzyme+ Probiotic Ingredients & Drug Interactions
by Kyo-Dophilus
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Enzyme+ Probiotic against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

HelloPharmacist Scorecard of Enzyme+ Probiotic by Kyo-Dophilus
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
This product contains 7 active ingredients: three digestive enzymes (amylase, protease, and lipase), one enzyme called lactase that breaks down milk sugar, and three live-culture probiotics — Bifidobacterium bifidum, Bifidobacterium longum, and Lactobacillus gasseri. The enzymes are meant to help break down carbohydrates, proteins, and fats during digestion.
The probiotics are beneficial bacteria that support gut health. The capsule also contains several inactive ingredients — starch, gelatin, dextrin, carboxymethylcellulose, silicon dioxide, glucose, and sodium citrate — which help hold the product together and protect the live cultures.
Does it work?
Strong evidence
For lactase, the evidence shows it's effective for lactose intolerance — that's the data we have. For the probiotics, Bifidobacterium bifidum and Bifidobacterium longum are both possibly effective for irritable bowel syndrome and respiratory tract infections, though the evidence is preliminary.
For the other conditions listed in the data — hay fever, anxiety, cognitive decline, asthma, athletic performance, and diarrhea — the evidence isn't established yet. We don't have effectiveness ratings for the other enzymes (amylase, protease, lipase) in our data.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Protease and lipase are generally well tolerated by most adults, but may cause digestive upset or allergic reactions in some people; those with serious digestive conditions should use lipase only under medical guidance. The probiotics are generally well tolerated in healthy adults, but people with weakened immune systems or serious illness should be cautious.
During pregnancy, safety data for protease, lipase, and the probiotics are limited — check with your doctor before using. For breastfeeding, there's little data on protease and lipase; ask your doctor or pharmacist first.
Lactase is likely safe in pregnancy and has limited but reassuring data during breastfeeding. Rarely, protease (like pepsin) can trigger allergic reactions when inhaled occupationally, and a case of lactase-induced contact dermatitis has been reported in workplace exposure.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Antibiotic drugs are the main concern — three of the probiotics in this product can be killed by antibiotics taken at the same time, which reduces how well the probiotics work. These are Moderate severity interactions.
If you take any antibiotics, check with your own doctor or pharmacist about spacing them away from this supplement.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with clinical evidence supporting its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
This product might help with lactose digestion and possibly support gut health if you have irritable bowel syndrome, though the probiotic evidence is still developing. If you're on antibiotics, you'll need to space them apart from this product — talk with your own doctor or pharmacist about the right timing.

Enzyme+ Probiotic by Kyo-Dophilus Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Enzyme+ Probiotic by Kyo-Dophilus interacts with antibiotic drugs through its probiotic content — specifically Bifidobacterium bifidum, Bifidobacterium longum, and Lactobacillus gasseri.
These are Moderate severity interactions: antibiotics can kill the live organisms in the probiotics, reducing their effectiveness. If you take antibiotics, space them out from this product — your doctor or pharmacist can tell you the right timing.

Additionally, we could not check amylase for interactions; we hold no data on that ingredient. The enzymes protease and lipase, and the probiotic lactase, have no interactions documented in our data.
Additionally, these three probiotics are the ones with known interaction potential. Use the medication checker below to see if you're on any antibiotics, and if so, talk with your own doctor or pharmacist about the best way to take both.
