HelloPharmacist Scorecard of Essential Omegas 3:6:7:9 by Higher Nature
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
Essential Omegas 3:6:7:9 contains five active omega fatty acids: eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), palmitoleic acid, and oleic acid. These are sourced from fish oil, starflower oil, virgin olive oil, and sea buckthorn oil.
The capsule itself, along with vitamin E, are inactive ingredients.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
Oleic acid—one of the five omegas in this product—is possibly effective for high cholesterol (hypercholesterolemia) and coronary heart disease. The evidence we hold on the other four fatty acids doesn't establish their effectiveness for specific conditions, so we can't say how well the full blend works.
How safe is it?
Some data gaps
Oleic acid from foods like olive oil is generally well tolerated. However, concentrated supplement doses of oleic acid are not well studied—in pregnancy, food amounts are fine, but supplement-level amounts lack good safety data.
If you're pregnant or breastfeeding, talk with your doctor or pharmacist before starting this product. No adverse effects are documented in our data for this product.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
If you take any antidiabetes medication (blood-sugar lowering drugs), double-check with your doctor or pharmacist before taking this product—oleic acid may increase their effect and lower your blood sugar more than intended.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and some safety-information gaps remain.
This omega blend may help with cholesterol and heart health, though the evidence applies mainly to oleic acid. The main thing to watch is if you take diabetes medication—the oleic acid could lower your blood sugar more than you expect.
Check your medications with your doctor or pharmacist before you start, especially if you take antidiabetes drugs.

For each ingredient in Essential Omegas 3:6:7:9 with known interactions, here are the types of medications it can affect. Open any type for the detail — or search your exact drug in the checker above.
Oleic Acid
Antidiabetes Drugs
Theoretically, oleic acid might increase the effects of antidiabetes drugs. Preliminary clinical research in patients with type 2 diabetes taking oral hypoglycemic drugs shows that eating a diet rich in oleic acid from olive oil decreases fasting blood glucose levels when compared to eating a diet rich in linoleic acid from sunflower oil. It is unknown if taking oleic acid supplements would have this effect or if this change is clinically significant. Until more is known, use caution. Dose adjustment may be necessary. Some antidiabetes drugs include glimepiride (Amaryl), glyburide (DiaBeta, Glynase PresTab, Micronase), insulin, metformin (Glucophage), pioglitazone (Actos), rosiglitazone (Avandia), and others.
