What’s inside
Low disclosure
This liquid contains one active ingredient: fresh Feverfew. The supplement also includes 40% grain alcohol and purified water as inactive ingredients to preserve and deliver the herb.
Does it work?
Couldn't assess
The evidence we have for feverfew is insufficient to establish that it works reliably for any condition. The data we hold rates it for tension headache, prurigo nodularis (a rare skin condition), psoriasis, and rheumatoid arthritis (RA)—but all ratings are insufficient reliable evidence.
That doesn't mean it doesn't work; it means the studies so far haven't been robust enough to say.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Feverfew is generally well tolerated in the short term, though some people experience allergic reactions or mouth irritation. The most common side effects are gastrointestinal—abdominal pain, bloating, constipation, diarrhea, flatulence, heartburn, and nausea.
Chewing fresh leaves is more likely to cause mouth ulcers and tongue irritation than commercial preparations. If you stop taking it after long-term use, you may experience post-feverfew syndrome, with symptoms like anxiety, headaches, and insomnia.
Feverfew is possibly unsafe during pregnancy and may stimulate the uterus, so the safety data advises against it. There isn't enough reliable data to know if it's safe while breastfeeding—talk with your doctor or pharmacist about whether to use it if you're nursing.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Double-check this product before starting if you take blood thinners or antiplatelet drugs (like warfarin or aspirin)—feverfew may increase bleeding risk. Also confirm with your pharmacist if you're on any medications metabolized by your liver, since feverfew might theoretically raise their levels.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with no assessable stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Feverfew is one to clear with your doctor or pharmacist before you start, especially if you take blood thinners, antiplatelet drugs, or medications processed by your liver. Evidence for its effectiveness isn't established yet in our data.
It's generally well tolerated short-term but can cause digestive upset and mouth irritation, and stopping after long-term use may trigger withdrawal symptoms.

Feverfew by Herbs Etc. Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Feverfew by Herbs Etc. has documented interactions with multiple medication types through its potential effects on how your liver processes drugs.
The most serious concern is with blood thinners and antiplatelet drugs (medications that prevent blood clots)—feverfew may increase bleeding risk when combined with them, though this interaction hasn't been reported in humans yet, only in lab research and one case report.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Feverfew may also affect how your body metabolizes a broad range of other medications. Lab studies suggest it might inhibit several liver enzymes (CYP3A4, CYP2D6, CYP2C19, CYP2C9, CYP2C8, and CYP1A2), which could theoretically raise blood levels of drugs broken down by these pathways.
So far, these interactions haven't been documented in people, but the theoretical risk is there.
Additionally, because the interaction data we hold shows feverfew has been checked against these drug types, we have no evidence it interacts with other medications. That said, absence of documented interactions isn't a guarantee none exist.
Before you start, check your exact medications with the search tool on this page, and confirm with your doctor or pharmacist that it's safe to add this supplement to what you're already taking.

Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs
Theoretically, feverfew might have additive effects and increase the risk of bleeding when used with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.
Laboratory research suggests that feverfew may inhibit platelet aggregation. Additionally, in one case report, a 36-year-old patient taking feverfew 2400 mg daily for 3 months experienced vaginal bleeding and a prolonged menstrual cycle, with a modest increase in partial thromboplastin time (PTT) and prothrombin time (PT).
