Calcium
Calcium is a vital nutrient found in various foods such as dairy products, certain vegetables, and many fortified items. Over 99% of the body's calcium is stored in the bones and teeth, predominantly as hydroxyapatite. The remaining calcium circulates in the blood, extracellular fluid, muscles, and other tissues, where it is essential for processes like nerve signaling, muscle contraction, vascular activities, glandular secretion, and maintaining cell membrane and capillary permeability. It also plays critical roles in enzyme reactions, respiration, kidney function, and blood clotting, and is involved in neurotransmitter and hormone release, amino acid uptake, vitamin B12 absorption, and gastrin secretion. Calcium balance changes with age: it is positive during periods of growth, stable in adulthood, and tends to become negative in older age. Calcium loss occurs through feces, urine, sweat, and shedding skin cells. In women, reduced estrogen levels decrease calcium absorption and retention, increase bone turnover, and lead to lower bone mass. Calcium supplements come in various forms, including citrate and carbonate, which differ mainly in their calcium content and absorption rates. Calcium citrate is easily absorbed and can be taken without food, making it suitable for older adults or those with low stomach acid. In contrast, calcium carbonate, which contains a higher percentage of calcium, is best absorbed when taken with meals.

General Statements |
- Meeting Nutritional Needs
Most of us have an increasingly hectic lifestyle, which makes meeting nutritional needs more and more difficult. Getting the recommended daily amount of fruits is vital to providing your body with potent antioxidants to counteract free radicals an prevent the damage they inevitably produce. Equally important is maintaining proper protein intake throughout the day to maintain optimal metabolic function.
- Antioxidants Are Exceptional
Everyday stress, environmental pollutants, natural metabolic process and exercise generate different types of free radicals. Oxidation occurs when these unstable free radicals, in an attempt to gain stability, damage cells by stripping electrons away from properly functioning cellular components such as lipid membranes, DNA, RNA, and proteins. These transactions only transfer the instability to these components creating new free radical and starting a chain reaction...antioxidants are exceptional molecules that can effectively halt this destructive chain reaction.
- Variety of Antioxidants Protection
MRM's BeneFruit Blend combines the vitality of 10 fruits all known to be packed with an assortment of antioidants to provide a broad spectrum of antioxidants protection. The Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity (ORAC) assay demonstrates the total antioxidant power of a sample, with the USDA and research recommending a daily intake between 3,000 and 5,000 units, Fruit-N- Whey(TM) delivers over 3500 ORAC units per serving of natural potent antioxidants.
- These specialized processing systems provide a High Biological vale (HBV) in the form of short and long chain peptides to increase protein retention.
- Enhancing Your Immune System Regardless of your lifestyle daily stress negatively impacts your immune system by increasing glutathione concentrations, a major antioxidants necessary for lymphocyte proliferation (white blood cell growth).
