What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: organic reishi mushroom, a fungus traditionally used in herbal medicine. The liquid formulation also contains deionized water and organic grain alcohol as inactive ingredients.
Does it work?
Not established
The evidence for reishi mushroom's effectiveness is mixed. For lowering cholesterol (hyperlipidemia), the data suggests it's likely not effective.
For other uses like altitude sickness, Alzheimer's disease, and athletic performance, there isn't enough reliable evidence yet to say whether it works.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Reishi mushroom is generally well tolerated in the short term, but long-term safety hasn't been well studied. The most common side effects are dizziness, dry mouth, itching, nausea, rash, and stomach upset.
Some people may have respiratory allergies to reishi spores, causing sore throat or runny nose. Rare side effects include insomnia and headache.
The safety data advises against reishi during pregnancy and while breastfeeding due to insufficient data. If you're pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding, talk with your pharmacist or doctor before using this product.
Meds to double-check

Before taking this product, check your medications against the tool on this page if you take blood pressure medications, blood thinners (anticoagulants or antiplatelets), or diabetes medications — all three have moderate interaction potential with reishi mushroom.

Forager's Quest Reishi by SurThrival Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Forager's Quest Reishi by SurThrival contains organic reishi mushroom, which has documented interactions with several medication types.
The most serious concern is with blood thinners (anticoagulant and antiplatelet drugs) — at higher doses, reishi may increase bleeding risk, though lower doses appear less problematic.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Reishi also interacts moderately with blood pressure medications (antihypertensive drugs). Because reishi can lower blood pressure on its own, taking it alongside blood pressure meds might drop your pressure too far.
Additionally, reishi may have additive effects with diabetes medications (antidiabetes drugs), though clinical evidence is mixed — animal studies suggest it lowers blood sugar, but human trials haven't consistently shown the same effect.
Altogether, these interactions span 372 individual medications. Before you start this product, run your exact medications through the checker below — especially if you take anything for blood pressure, blood clotting, or blood sugar control.

organic Reishi Mushroom
Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs
Theoretically, high doses of reishi mushroom might increase the risk of bleeding.
A dose of 1.5 grams daily of reishi mushroom does not seem to decrease platelet aggregation, but a higher dose of 3 grams daily does.
Antidiabetes Drugs
Theoretically, reishi mushroom might have additive effects with antidiabetes drugs.
Animal research suggests that reishi mushroom decreases blood sugar. However, in patients with type 2 diabetes, taking reishi mushroom does not reduce fasting glucose levels, and its effects on glycated hemoglobin are inconsistent.
Antihypertensive Drugs
Theoretically, concurrent use of reishi mushroom with antihypertensive drugs might increase the risk of hypotension.
Reishi mushroom has shown hypotensive activity in animal research. Clinical evidence suggests that reishi mushroom reduces blood pressure in some, but not all, patients with hypertension.
