ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS
Why this applies to Aspirin, Oxycodone
Aspirin, Oxycodone falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Reishi Mushroom interacts with.
A dose of 1.5 grams daily of reishi mushroom does not seem to decrease platelet aggregation, but a higher dose of 3 grams daily does.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Percodan combines aspirin with oxycodone. The aspirin part is what matters here. Aspirin already thins your blood a little by making platelets less sticky, which is why it can cause bruising or bleeding. Reishi mushroom may do something similar at higher doses. In lab and animal studies, about 3 grams a day of reishi appeared to reduce platelet clumping, while a smaller 1.5 gram dose did not seem to. Stacking these two could, in theory, add up to a slightly higher bleeding risk.
To be fair, this is mostly based on lab work, not strong human studies, so I wouldn't panic. Still, watch for easy bruising, nosebleeds, or stomach upset, and check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding a concentrated reishi supplement.

Reishi is a traditional Asian mushroom widely used to support the immune system and overall wellness.
