Reishi Mushroom + Propranolol
Propranolol brand names: Inderal LA, Inderal, Angilol, Syprol, Inderal Injection, and others.
Reishi Mushroom has a moderate interaction with Propranolol. Theoretically, concurrent use of reishi mushroom with antihypertensive drugs might increase the risk of hypotension.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS
Why this applies to Propranolol
Propranolol falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group Reishi Mushroom interacts with.
Reishi mushroom has shown hypotensive activity in animal research. Clinical evidence suggests that reishi mushroom reduces blood pressure in some, but not all, patients with hypertension.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist: propranolol already lowers your blood pressure and slows your heart rate. Reishi mushroom may have a mild blood-pressure-lowering effect of its own, so taking the two together could, in theory, push your numbers down a little more than expected. If that happens, you might feel lightheaded, dizzy, tired, or notice your pulse running slow, especially when you stand up quickly.
I want to be honest about the evidence here. This concern comes mostly from animal and lab studies, and human results have been mixed, so for many people it won't be a problem at all. Still, it's worth a heads-up. If you'd like to try reishi, check in with your pharmacist or doctor first, and keep an eye on your blood pressure when you start.

About Reishi Mushroom
What is Reishi Mushroom?
- Immune support
- Fatigue and general well-being
- Stress and sleep
- Inflammation
- Heart and cholesterol health
Reishi is a traditional Asian mushroom widely used to support the immune system and overall wellness. Human evidence for most of its claimed benefits is limited or low-quality, so it should not replace proven treatments. It is generally well tolerated for short-term use, but check with your pharmacist or doctor before starting, especially if you are pregnant, nursing, or take other medicines.
About Propranolol (Cardiovascular)
What Is Propranolol (Cardiovascular) Used For?
Brand names: Inderal LA, Inderal, Angilol, Syprol, Inderal Injection, Half-Inderal LA, Bedranol SR, Half Beta Prograne, Beta Prograne, Lopranol LA, Slo-Pro, InnoPran XL
This intravenous (IV) form of propranolol is used in hospital or clinical settings to treat dangerous heart rhythm problems. It is generally reserved for life-threatening arrhythmias (abnormal heart rhythms) or those that occur during anesthesia.
Specific conditions it treats include fast heart rates coming from the upper chambers of the heart (supraventricular tachycardia), certain arrhythmias caused by digitalis toxicity, dangerous ventricular rhythms that haven't responded to other treatments, and fast heart rates caused by excess adrenaline-like substances during surgery.

Propranolol Is Linked to Lower Levels of One Nutrient
Natural Medicines records Propranolol as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Reishi Mushroom — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
