Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS
Why this applies to Bisoprolol
Bisoprolol falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group Reishi Mushroom interacts with.
Reishi mushroom has shown hypotensive activity in animal research. Clinical evidence suggests that reishi mushroom reduces blood pressure in some, but not all, patients with hypertension.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the simple version: bisoprolol already lowers your blood pressure and slows your heart rate. Reishi mushroom may have a mild blood-pressure-lowering effect of its own. So when you take both, those effects can stack up and push your numbers a little lower than expected. In real life that might show up as feeling dizzy, lightheaded, unusually tired, or faint when you stand up quickly.
I want to be honest about how strong this concern is: it's mostly based on animal studies and a few small human reports, so it's more theoretical than proven. Many people would be fine. Still, since you're on a heart medicine, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before adding reishi, and check your blood pressure at home if you start it.

About Reishi Mushroom
What is Reishi Mushroom?
- Immune support
- Fatigue and general well-being
- Stress and sleep
- Inflammation
- Heart and cholesterol health
Reishi is a traditional Asian mushroom widely used to support the immune system and overall wellness. Human evidence for most of its claimed benefits is limited or low-quality, so it should not replace proven treatments. It is generally well tolerated for short-term use, but check with your pharmacist or doctor before starting, especially if you are pregnant, nursing, or take other medicines.
About Bisoprolol
What Is Bisoprolol Used For?
Brand name: Zebeta
Bisoprolol fumarate tablets are used to manage high blood pressure (hypertension). Lowering blood pressure reduces the strain on the heart and blood vessels, helping prevent serious complications over time.
It can be used on its own or combined with other blood pressure-lowering medicines, such as thiazide diuretics. All supported products — including those labeled as Bisoprolol and Bisoprolol Fumarate — share this indication.

Bisoprolol Is Linked to Lower Levels of One Nutrient
Natural Medicines records Bisoprolol as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Reishi Mushroom — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
