Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
This formula has six active ingredients working together as a probiotic blend. The main players are live bacteria strains — Lactobacillus plantarum, Lactobacillus acidophilus, Lactobacillus paracasei, and Bifidobacterium animalis lactis — plus Fructooligosaccharides (FOS), a type of fiber that feeds the good bacteria.
There's also a Marine Polysaccharide Complex. The capsule itself contains three inactive ingredients: cellulose, rice maltodextrin, and L-leucine.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
For Lactobacillus acidophilus, the evidence shows it's possibly effective for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), possibly effective for Helicobacter pylori infection, possibly effective for antibiotic-associated diarrhea, and possibly effective for bacterial vaginosis. The FOS in this product hasn't been rated reliably for any condition we have data on — the evidence is insufficient for osteoporosis, constipation, diabetes, travelers' diarrhea, and high cholesterol.
For the other bacteria in this blend, we don't have effectiveness ratings on file.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Lactobacillus acidophilus is generally well tolerated in healthy adults and children. Gastrointestinal side effects like abdominal pain, bloating, flatulence, and diarrhea are possible when taking probiotics, but they're uncommon.
FOS can cause gas, bloating, and abdominal pain — especially at higher doses — though studies show these effects are often mild and don't consistently show up at doses under 10 grams daily. Because supplement-level doses of FOS aren't well studied, talk with your doctor before use.
There's a theoretical concern that live probiotics could cause infection in some patients, though this is very rare; check with your healthcare provider if you have a weakened immune system.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before you take this, check if you're on antibiotic drugs — there's a Moderate interaction with Lactobacillus acidophilus in this formula. We hold no interaction data for the other bacteria strains or the marine polysaccharide in this product.
Run your exact medications through the search tool on this page to be sure.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
This probiotic may help if you have IBS, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, or certain other conditions where Lactobacillus acidophilus shows promise. If you're on antibiotics, space them apart from this product to keep the live bacteria intact.
Check your medications with our tool before you start — especially if you take antibiotics — and talk to your pharmacist if you have any concerns about gas, bloating, or a weakened immune system.

Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking Lactobacillus acidophilus with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of L. acidophilus.
L. acidophilus preparations usually contain live and active organisms. Therefore, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and L. acidophilus preparations by at least two hours.
