What’s inside
Full disclosure
ISO100 is a single-ingredient product: hydrolyzed whey protein isolate — whey protein that's been broken down into smaller pieces so your body can absorb it quickly. The inactive ingredients are more whey protein isolate, natural flavors, citric acid, sea salt, and stevia (a natural sweetener).
Does it work?
Strong evidence
The sodium in this product has been studied for a few specific conditions. It's likely effective for cystic fibrosis.
For amphotericin B nephrotoxicity — kidney damage from a certain antifungal drug — it's possibly effective. For bipolar disorder and congestive heart failure, the evidence isn't strong enough for us to rate it either way.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Sodium is essential for your body in small amounts, but too much is linked to high blood pressure and heart strain. Normal dietary sodium is fine, but avoid sodium supplements or very high intake without medical advice.
At moderate intakes — up to the recommended daily limit — sodium is generally well tolerated. Rare serious effects from excess sodium include worsened heart disease, high blood pressure, and kidney disease.
Population studies have also linked high sodium intake to increased stomach cancer risk.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Check with your doctor or pharmacist before taking this if you use blood pressure medications (antihypertensives), lithium, corticosteroids, HIV medications like didanosine, sodium phosphate laxatives, tolvaptan, or any other sodium-containing medication. All of these interact with sodium at Moderate severity.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with strong clinical evidence behind its ingredients' uses. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
This is a whey protein powder sweetened with stevia. If you take blood pressure medications, lithium, corticosteroids, HIV medications, or sodium-containing drugs, talk with your doctor or pharmacist before adding it — sodium in your diet affects how all of these work.
For most people without those medications, normal dietary sodium is fine, but don't oversupplement.

ISO100 Hydrolyzed Cherry Watermelon by Dymatize Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
ISO100 Hydrolyzed Cherry Watermelon by Dynatize contains sodium, which interacts with a number of medications.
The most serious concern is with blood pressure medications (antihypertensives): high sodium intake can reduce how well they work, potentially requiring higher doses to keep your blood pressure under control.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Sodium also affects how your body handles lithium (used for bipolar disorder) — too much sodium can lower lithium levels and reduce its effect, while too little can raise them to toxic levels. If you take lithium, sodium intake needs to stay steady and consistent.
Additionally, sodium can increase the risk of dangerously high sodium levels (hypernatremia) when combined with corticosteroids, didanosine (an HIV medication), sodium phosphate laxatives, tolvaptan (used for low sodium levels), or other sodium-containing drugs.
Altogether, these interactions span 205 individual medications. Check your exact prescriptions with the tool on this page before you start, especially if you take anything for blood pressure, bipolar disorder, or HIV, or if you use corticosteroids or any sodium-containing medication.

For each ingredient in ISO100 Hydrolyzed Cherry Watermelon with known interactions, here are the types of medications it can affect. Open any type for the detail — or search your exact drug in the checker above.
Sodium
Antihypertensive Drugs
Theoretically, a high intake of dietary sodium might reduce the effectiveness of antihypertensive drugs.
High intake of dietary sodium can increase systolic and diastolic blood pressure. Also, high intake of sodium may necessitate increased use of antihypertensive medications to achieve blood pressure control in some patients, such as those with chronic kidney disease.
Corticosteroids
Concomitant use of mineralocorticoids and some glucocorticoids with sodium supplements might increase the risk of hypernatremia.
Mineralocorticoids and some glucocorticoids (corticosteroids) cause sodium retention. This effect is dose-related and depends on mineralocorticoid potency. It is most common with hydrocortisone, cortisone, and fludrocortisone, followed by prednisone and prednisolone.
Didanosine (Videx)
Concomitant use of didanosine with additional sodium from dietary or supplemental sources may increase the risk of hypernatremia.
Didanosine formulations contain a significant amount of sodium.
Lithium
Altering dietary intake of sodium might alter the levels and clinical effects of lithium.
High sodium intake can reduce plasma concentrations of lithium by increasing lithium excretion. Reducing sodium intake can significantly increase plasma concentrations of lithium and cause lithium toxicity in patients being treated with lithium carbonate. Stabilizing sodium intake is shown to reduce the percentage of patients with lithium level fluctuations above 0.8 mEq/L. Patients taking lithium should avoid significant alterations in their dietary intake of sodium.
Sodium Phosphates
Theoretically, concomitant use of sodium phosphate with sodium supplements might increase the risk of hypernatremia.
Use of high doses (> 45 mL in 24 hours) of sodium phosphate, such as those used for bowel cleansing before surgery, can lead to serious electrolyte disturbances, including hypernatremia. The risk of hypernatremia is highest in the elderly and people with other risk factors for electrolyte disturbances.
Sodium-Containing Drugs
Concomitant use of sodium-containing drugs with additional sodium from dietary or supplemental sources may increase the risk of hypernatremia and long-term sodium-related complications.
The Chronic Disease Risk Reduction (CDRR) intake level of 2.3 grams of sodium daily indicates the intake at which it is believed that chronic disease risk increases for the apparently healthy population. Some medications contain high quantities of sodium. When used in conjunction with sodium supplements or high-sodium diets, the CDRR may be exceeded. Additionally, concomitant use may increase the risk for hypernatremia; this risk is highest in the elderly and people with other risk factors for electrolyte disturbances.
Tolvaptan (Samsca)
Theoretically, concomitant use of tolvaptan with sodium might increase the risk of hypernatremia.
Tolvaptan is a vasopressin receptor 2 antagonist that is used to increase sodium levels in patients with hyponatremia. Patients taking tolvaptan should use caution with the use of sodium salts such as sodium chloride.
