Every active ingredient lists its own amount on the label.

Why this rating?
  • The label discloses an exact amount for 1 of its 1 active ingredient.
  • No proprietary blends here — you can verify the dose of every single component.

This product contains one active ingredient: a reishi mushroom extract, also called Ling Zhi. Reishi is a fungal supplement with a long history in traditional medicine.

The formulation also includes vegetable palm glycerin and alcohol as inactive ingredients (the liquid base and preservative).

Evidence for Intended Use · database check
By FDA rules, dietary supplements can’t claim to treat, cure, or prevent disease — so labels speak in careful marketing language. We discern each product’s intended use from its name, label claims, and label statements, then grade the clinical evidence for that use. How these ratings are computed
Not assessable

This is a single-ingredient Reishi Mushroom product and its label doesn't state a use — see Reishi Mushroom's own graded uses on its monograph.

Why this rating?
  • We looked at the product name, claims, and label statements and couldn't find a stated purpose to grade.

The data we hold shows that reishi mushroom is possibly ineffective for high cholesterol (hyperlipidemia). For other uses — altitude sickness, Alzheimer disease, and athletic performance — the evidence is too sparse or unclear to rate.

If you're considering reishi for one of those other purposes, talk with your doctor or pharmacist about what the current science actually supports for your situation.

How safe is it?

Well-documented data
Safety Information · database check
Well characterized

Adverse-effect, pregnancy, and general safety data are on file for most of these ingredients.

Why this rating?
  • We hold adverse-effect (side-effect) data for 1 of the 1 matched ingredient.
  • Pregnancy & breastfeeding safety ratings cover 1 of 1.
  • General safety write-ups exist for 1 of 1.
  • Remember: this measures how much safety information exists. Thin data is not the same as being safe.

Short-term, reishi is generally well tolerated, though some people report dizziness, dry mouth, itching, nausea, rash, stomach upset, sore throat, or runny nose. Respiratory allergies to reishi spores can also occur, and rare cases of insomnia or headache have been noted.

Long-term safety hasn't been well studied. There isn't enough safety data to use reishi during pregnancy or while breastfeeding — talk with your doctor or pharmacist for personalized advice if you're pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or nursing.

The most serious documented interaction for these ingredients is Moderate. Check your medications for a personalized result.

Why this rating?
  • 1 of the 1 matched ingredient can interact with medications — Reishi Mushroom.
  • The most serious interaction on file is rated Moderate.
  • Some involve high-stakes drug classes: anticoagulant / antiplatelet drugs; diabetes medications.
  • For scale: 375 individual medications appear in the full list. A big number alone doesn't make a product dangerous — what matters is whether YOUR medication is on it, so run yours through the interaction checker on this page.

Check with your doctor or pharmacist before using this product if you take blood thinners (anticoagulant/antiplatelet drugs), blood pressure medications, or diabetes medications. All three drug types have Moderate interactions with reishi mushroom that could affect how they work or increase unwanted effects.

The bottom line

Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no assessable stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.

Ling Zhi is a reishi mushroom supplement that works best if you're not on blood pressure medications, blood thinners, or diabetes drugs — those interactions need a conversation with your doctor or pharmacist first. The evidence for effectiveness is weak or absent for most uses.

If you're pregnant, breastfeeding, or considering long-term use, check in with your healthcare provider before starting.
