Acetohexamide falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Reishi Mushroom interacts with.

Theoretically, reishi mushroom might have additive effects with antidiabetes drugs.
Animal research suggests that reishi mushroom decreases blood sugar. However, in patients with type 2 diabetes, taking reishi mushroom does not reduce fasting glucose levels, and its effects on glycated hemoglobin are inconsistent.

Here's the simple version: acetohexamide (Dymelor) is an older sulfonylurea that lowers your blood sugar by nudging your pancreas to release more insulin. Reishi, in animal studies, also seemed to bring blood sugar down a bit. So in theory, pairing the two could push your sugar lower than either one alone, raising the chance of a low blood sugar episode (shakiness, sweating, dizziness, confusion, or feeling faint).

That said, I want to be honest about the evidence. This is mostly lab and animal data, and in actual people with type 2 diabetes, reishi did not reliably drop fasting glucose. So the real-world risk looks small. Still, if you decide to use reishi, it's smart to check your sugars more often at first and let your doctor or pharmacist know.
