Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
This product has 3 active ingredients. Vitamin B12 (also called cobalamin) is the main player here — it's an essential nutrient your body needs for nerve function, red blood cell formation, and DNA synthesis.
In this formula, it's wrapped in liposomes, which are tiny fat-based carriers designed to help your body absorb it better. Lecithin, derived from soy or eggs, acts as an emulsifier and also supports cell membrane health.
Glycerin rounds out the blend — it's a humectant that draws moisture and may help with absorption. The product also contains water, natural lemon and lime flavoring, stevia extract, and potassium sorbate as preservative.
Does it work?
Strong evidence
Vitamin B12 is effective for treating B12 deficiency and a rare condition called Imerslund-Grasbeck disease, and it's likely effective for cyanide poisoning. There's possibly good evidence it may help with canker sores and postherpetic neuralgia (nerve pain after shingles), though the data is less robust.
As for lecithin and glycerin — the evidence we have on file doesn't support their use for most of the conditions people take them for. Glycerin does show likely effectiveness for constipation, but lecithin's track record on conditions like Alzheimer's disease and cognitive decline is weak or inconclusive.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Vitamin B12 is generally very safe — your body excretes excess B12 in urine, so there's no established upper limit. It's needed in pregnancy and breastfeeding and is considered safe at recommended doses; follow your provider's guidance.
The main side effects are rare: injection-site reactions if given by shot, and very occasionally allergic reactions like rash or itching (especially in people with cobalt or egg allergies). Lecithin is well tolerated by most people; common side effects are mild — abdominal pain, diarrhea, and nausea — though it can trigger allergic skin reactions in people with egg or soy sensitivities.
Glycerin is also well tolerated in normal amounts, with potential mild side effects like bloating, diarrhea, nausea, and dizziness. Large oral doses of glycerin may cause stomach upset and dehydration concerns.
Meds to double-check
Minor interactions only
If you take metformin for diabetes, that's the main medication to flag — metformin can lower your B12 levels, so your doctor may want to monitor you or adjust your dosing. No other medication interactions are documented for the ingredients we checked in our data.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with clinical evidence supporting its stated purpose. Only minor medication interactions are documented, and safety information is well characterized.
This supplement is a solid choice if you have B12 deficiency or need B12 support — especially if you take metformin, since that drug can deplete your levels. The liposomal delivery form may help your body absorb it.
If you have any egg or soy allergies, check with your pharmacist first because lecithin comes from those sources. Run your medications through our checker to make sure nothing interferes.
