What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: lycopene 10 mg per softgel. Lycopene is a carotenoid—a plant pigment that gives tomatoes and other red fruits their color.
The inactive ingredients are rice bran oil, gelatin, glycerin, and purified water.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The evidence for lycopene is mixed and depends on what you're hoping it will do. It's rated possibly effective for prostate cancer.
For bladder cancer and diabetes, the evidence points toward it being possibly ineffective. For high cholesterol (hyperlipidemia), exercise-triggered asthma, and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS, or Lou Gehrig's disease), we don't have reliable evidence either way.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Lycopene from food is considered safe, and supplement doses are generally well tolerated. The most common side effects from supplements are gastrointestinal—diarrhea, gas, abdominal bloating, nausea, vomiting, indigestion, and loss of appetite.
One case of chest pain was reported in a pregnant patient taking a different lycopene product at a lower dose, though it's unclear whether lycopene caused it. For pregnancy, the safety data advises against lycopene supplements unless your doctor advises otherwise; food amounts are fine.
There isn't enough data on supplements while breastfeeding—food amounts are fine, but talk with your pharmacist or doctor before taking a supplement version.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before taking this product, check with your doctor or pharmacist if you're on any blood thinners or antiplatelet drugs—such as warfarin, dabigatran, apixaban, rivaroxaban, aspirin, clopidogrel, or ticagrelor. Lycopene may increase bleeding risk with these medications.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with some supporting evidence behind its ingredients' uses. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Lycopene may be worth considering if you're interested in prostate health support, though the evidence is modest. If you take any blood thinner or anticlot medication, check with your doctor or pharmacist before starting this product.
Gastrointestinal side effects are possible, especially at higher doses. Talk it over with your own pharmacist or doctor to see if it's right for you.

Formula
Natural Lycopene is a powerful antioxidant carotenoid and the pigment that gives tomatoes, watermelon and pink grapefruit their characteristic red color. Lycopene is one of the four main carotenoids normally found in human blood and tissue. Studies show that lycopene is a scavenger of singlet oxygen, offering powerful antioxidant protection. The body cannot convert lycopene into Vitamin A; thus lycopene is reserved exclusively for antioxidant use. Certain research publications indicate that Lycopene may help support the following: Supports cardiovascular health & immune function Supports healthy digestive system
