Every active ingredient lists its own amount on the label.

Why this rating?
  • The label discloses an exact amount for 1 of its 1 active ingredient.
  • No proprietary blends here — you can verify the dose of every single component.

CurEase Maqui Berry Powder contains a single active ingredient: maqui berry. There are no other inactive ingredients listed in this product — it's maqui alone in powder form.

Does it work?

Couldn't assess
Evidence for Intended Use · database check
By FDA rules, dietary supplements can’t claim to treat, cure, or prevent disease — so labels speak in careful marketing language. We discern each product’s intended use from its name, label claims, and label statements, then grade the clinical evidence for that use. How these ratings are computed
Not assessable

This is a single-ingredient Maqui product and its label doesn't state a use — see Maqui's own graded uses on its monograph.

Why this rating?
  • We looked at the product name, claims, and label statements and couldn't find a stated purpose to grade.

The evidence for maqui berry isn't established in the data we hold. Studies haven't found reliable proof that it helps with dry eye, prediabetes, or psychological well-being.

That doesn't mean it doesn't work; it means we don't have strong human evidence yet to say whether it does.

How safe is it?

Some data gaps
Safety Information · database check
Some gaps

Safety data exists for these ingredients, but with some important gaps.

Why this rating?
  • We hold adverse-effect (side-effect) data for 0 of the 1 matched ingredient.
  • Pregnancy & breastfeeding safety ratings cover 1 of 1.
  • General safety write-ups exist for 1 of 1.
  • Remember: this measures how much safety information exists. Thin data is not the same as being safe.

Maqui berry in food amounts is likely safe, but supplement safety hasn't been well studied. The available safety information is limited, so the recommendation on file is to avoid supplement doses until more data exists.

There are no adverse effects documented in trial data we could access. For pregnancy and lactation, the safety data we hold doesn't provide enough information to know either way.

If you're pregnant or breastfeeding, talk with your doctor or pharmacist about whether this product is right for you.

Minor interactions only
Known Interaction Concern · database check
Minor only

Only Minor-severity interactions are documented for these ingredients.

Why this rating?
  • 1 of the 1 matched ingredient can interact with medications — Maqui.
  • The most serious interaction on file is rated Minor.
  • Some involve high-stakes drug classes: diabetes medications.
  • For scale: 86 individual medications appear in the full list. A big number alone doesn't make a product dangerous — what matters is whether YOUR medication is on it, so run yours through the interaction checker on this page.

If you take any antidiabetes drugs — metformin, insulin, sulfonylureas, or any other blood sugar medication — mention them to your doctor or pharmacist before using this product. They'll want to watch for signs that your blood sugar is dropping too low.

The bottom line

Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no assessable stated purpose. Only minor medication interactions are documented, and some safety-information gaps remain.

CurEase Maqui Berry Powder is a single-ingredient product with limited safety and effectiveness data as a supplement. If you take antidiabetes medications, check with your doctor or pharmacist before starting it.

Given the caution around supplement doses, it's worth discussing with your healthcare provider whether this is the right choice for you.

Antidiabetes Drugs

Theoretically, maqui fruit extract may increase the risk of hypoglycemia when used with antidiabetes drugs.
Animal research shows that maqui berry reduces fasting blood glucose. However, maqui berry extract taken orally, either as a single dose or daily for 3 months, does not decrease fasting blood glucose in prediabetic patients. It is unknown whether it might reduce blood glucose levels in patients with diabetes.
