Maqui + Dapagliflozin
Dapagliflozin brand name: Farxiga.
Maqui has a minor interaction with Dapagliflozin. Theoretically, maqui fruit extract may increase the risk of hypoglycemia when used with antidiabetes drugs.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
ANTIDIABETES DRUGS
Why this applies to Dapagliflozin
Dapagliflozin falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Maqui interacts with.
Animal research shows that maqui berry reduces fasting blood glucose. However, maqui berry extract taken orally, either as a single dose or daily for 3 months, does not decrease fasting blood glucose in prediabetic patients. It is unknown whether it might reduce blood glucose levels in patients with diabetes.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the simple version: maqui berry may have a mild blood sugar lowering effect of its own. Since dapagliflozin (Farxiga) is already working to bring your sugar down, stacking the two could, in theory, push your levels a little lower than expected. That's where the idea of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) comes in, with signs like shakiness, sweating, dizziness, or feeling foggy.
Now, the honest part: this is mostly theoretical. In actual human studies, maqui extract did not lower fasting blood sugar in prediabetic folks, and dapagliflozin alone rarely causes lows on its own. Food amounts of the berry are very unlikely to matter. If you take a concentrated maqui supplement, just give your pharmacist or doctor a heads-up and keep an eye on your readings.

About Maqui
What is Maqui?
- Antioxidant support
- Blood sugar support
- Eye health and dry eye
- Anti-inflammatory support
- Heart health
Maqui is a dark purple berry from Chile that is very rich in antioxidant plant pigments called anthocyanins. Early research suggests it may help with things like blood sugar, dry eye, and inflammation, but the human evidence is still limited and far from proven. It is generally well tolerated as a food, but talk with your pharmacist or doctor before using concentrated supplements.
About Dapagliflozin
What Is Dapagliflozin Used For?
Brand name: Farxiga
Dapagliflozin is used for several serious conditions. It helps improve blood sugar control in adults and children aged 10 and older with type 2 diabetes (alongside diet and exercise). It also reduces the risk of hospitalization for heart failure in adults with type 2 diabetes who have established cardiovascular disease or multiple cardiovascular risk factors.
Farxiga (dapagliflozin) is additionally approved to reduce the risk of cardiovascular death, hospitalization, and urgent visits due to heart failure in adults with heart failure — and to slow the progression of chronic kidney disease, including reducing the risk of kidney failure and cardiovascular death, in adults with chronic kidney disease at risk of getting worse.

Dapagliflozin Is Linked to Lower Levels of One Nutrient
Natural Medicines records Dapagliflozin as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Maqui — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
