Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
ANTIDIABETES DRUGS
Why this applies to Liraglutide Recombinant
Liraglutide Recombinant falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Maqui interacts with.
Animal research shows that maqui berry reduces fasting blood glucose. However, maqui berry extract taken orally, either as a single dose or daily for 3 months, does not decrease fasting blood glucose in prediabetic patients. It is unknown whether it might reduce blood glucose levels in patients with diabetes.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the simple version: liraglutide (Saxenda or Victoza) already works to lower your blood sugar. Maqui berry might nudge blood sugar down a little too, so in theory the two together could push your sugar lower than expected. If that happens, you could feel the usual signs of low blood sugar, like shakiness, sweating, dizziness, a racing heart, or feeling foggy and irritable.
I want to keep this in perspective, though. This is mostly a theoretical concern. In human studies, maqui extract did not actually lower fasting blood sugar in prediabetic folks, and we don't have good data in people with diabetes. Eating the berry as food is very unlikely to matter. If you're using a concentrated maqui supplement, just give your pharmacist or doctor a heads-up and keep an eye on your glucose readings.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Liraglutide Recombinant page
“If you take liraglutide (Saxenda), handle this page with real care, because all 239 ingredients on it act on the same thing the drug does, your blood sugar. The one major entry, Siberian cocklebur, has caused severe hypoglycemia, dangerously low blood sugar, in people and should never be combined with a glucose-lowering medicine.”

- Anti-inflammatory support
- Heart health
Maqui is a dark purple berry from Chile that is very rich in antioxidant plant pigments called anthocyanins.
