Metabolic Booster Ingredients & Drug Interactions
by Ombre
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Metabolic Booster against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

HelloPharmacist Scorecard of Metabolic Booster by Ombre
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
Metabolic Booster has 8 ingredients total, most of them live probiotic bacteria and yeast. The checked actives are Lactobacillus helveticus Rosell-52, Lactobacillus acidophilus Rosell 418, Saccharomyces boulardii CNCM 1-1079, and Bifidobacterium longum UABL-14 — all live organisms meant to support your gut.
There's also a proprietary probiotic blend, plus three other probiotic species we couldn't review. The rest — hypromellose, water, and Sunfiber — are inactive ingredients that help hold the capsule together and deliver the probiotics.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The evidence for what Metabolic Booster does varies ingredient by ingredient. Saccharomyces boulardii and Lactobacillus acidophilus show possibly effective ratings for several conditions: travelers' diarrhea, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, and certain gut infections like C. difficile — though the data are not conclusive.
For Lactobacillus helveticus and Bifidobacterium longum, there's insufficient reliable evidence to rate them for the conditions studied so far, which means the research just isn't there yet to say whether they work. We don't have effectiveness data for the other probiotic strains in this product.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
These probiotics are generally well tolerated in healthy adults, though some people report mild gastrointestinal side effects — abdominal discomfort, bloating, flatulence, or gas — especially when combining different probiotic species. If you're seriously ill, immunocompromised, or critically ill, be cautious: there are rare reports of these live organisms causing infections (bacteremia or sepsis) in those groups, particularly those with central lines or in intensive care.
The product facts don't include pregnancy or breastfeeding safety data for most of these ingredients, so talk with your doctor or pharmacist before use if you're pregnant or nursing.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before you take this product, double-check antibiotic drugs (Moderate interaction) and antifungal drugs (Minor interaction) with your pharmacist. Antibiotics can reduce the probiotic's effectiveness, and you may need to space them apart.
No interactions are documented for the other probiotic strains we could not review, but that doesn't mean none exist.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Metabolic Booster is a multi-strain probiotic that may help with antibiotic-associated diarrhea and travelers' diarrhea based on its Saccharomyces and Lactobacillus acidophilus content, though the evidence isn't rock-solid. If you take antibiotics or antifungals, timing matters — you'll need to separate doses.
Anyone who's seriously ill or immunocompromised should check with their doctor first. Run your current medications through the interaction checker on this page before you start.

Metabolic Booster by Ombre Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Metabolic Booster by Ombre contains several probiotic ingredients, and a few of them do interact with medications.
The most serious interaction is with antibiotic drugs (Moderate severity): Lactobacillus helveticus, Lactobacillus acidophilus, and Bifidobacterium longum all contain live organisms that antibiotics can kill, which may reduce how well the probiotic works. You'll want to separate when you take them — ask your pharmacist for the right timing.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Another documented interaction is with antifungal drugs (Minor severity). Saccharomyces boulardii, a live yeast in this product, may become less effective if you take antifungals at the same time, since those drugs can kill the yeast organisms.
We couldn't check interaction data for Lactobacillus rhamnosus Rosell-11, Enterococcus faecium Rosell 26, or Lactobacillus reuteri Rosell 444 — no monograph is on file for those ingredients. Altogether, these interactions span 222 individual medications.

Lactobacillus helveticus Rosell-52
Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking Lactobacillus helveticus with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of L. helveticus.
Lactobacillus helveticus preparations usually contain live and active organisms. Therefore, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and L. helveticus preparations by at least two hours.
Lactobacillus acidophilus Rosell 418
Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking Lactobacillus acidophilus with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of L. acidophilus.
L. acidophilus preparations usually contain live and active organisms. Therefore, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and L. acidophilus preparations by at least two hours.
Bifidobacterium longum UABL-14
Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking Bifidobacterium longum with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of B. longum.
Since B. longum preparations usually contain live and active organisms, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and B. longum preparations by at least 2 hours.
Saccharomyces boulardii CNCM 1-1079
Antifungals
Theoretically, taking antifungals with Saccharomyces boulardii might decrease the effectiveness of Saccharomyces boulardii.
S. boulardii is a live yeast. Therefore, simultaneously taking antifungals might kill a significant number of the organisms.
