How safe is it?

Both strains are generally well tolerated in healthy people. However, if you're seriously ill, immunocompromised, or critically ill, these products require extra caution — there have been rare but serious reports of these bacteria entering the bloodstream (bacteremia or sepsis) in vulnerable patients, especially premature infants and those on life support.
Oral side effects are rare and may include abdominal discomfort, bloating, flatulence, or constipation. One patient reported a dry cough.
Safety data during breastfeeding are limited, so check with your doctor before use if you're nursing. For pregnancy, the data are rated possibly safe, but discuss with your healthcare provider for personalized guidance.

Bifidobacterium longum Rosell-175
Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking Bifidobacterium longum with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of B. longum.
Since B. longum preparations usually contain live and active organisms, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and B. longum preparations by at least 2 hours.
Lactobacillus helveticus Rosell-52 ND
Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking Lactobacillus helveticus with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of L. helveticus.
Lactobacillus helveticus preparations usually contain live and active organisms. Therefore, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and L. helveticus preparations by at least two hours.
