Every active ingredient lists its own amount on the label.

Why this rating?
  • The label discloses an exact amount for 1 of its 1 active ingredient.
  • No proprietary blends here — you can verify the dose of every single component.

This product contains one active ingredient: nattokinase complex, an enzyme derived from natto (fermented soybeans). It's intended to support circulation and cardiovascular function.

The capsule itself and the other materials (microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, silicon dioxide) are inactive ingredients that help deliver the nattokinase.

Evidence for Intended Use · database check
By FDA rules, dietary supplements can’t claim to treat, cure, or prevent disease — so labels speak in careful marketing language. We discern each product’s intended use from its name, label claims, and label statements, then grade the clinical evidence for that use. How these ratings are computed
Not assessable

This is a single-ingredient Nattokinase product and its label doesn't state a use — see Nattokinase's own graded uses on its monograph.

Why this rating?
  • We looked at the product name, claims, and label statements and couldn't find a stated purpose to grade.

The evidence we hold does not establish nattokinase as effective for any condition. For angina, atherosclerosis, cancer, cardiovascular disease, and chronic fatigue syndrome, the rating is insufficient reliable evidence to rate.

That means the research so far isn't strong enough to say whether it works. If you're thinking about it for a specific health goal, that's worth discussing with your doctor.

How safe is it?

Well-documented data
Safety Information · database check
Well characterized

Adverse-effect, pregnancy, and general safety data are on file for most of these ingredients.

Why this rating?
  • We hold adverse-effect (side-effect) data for 1 of the 1 matched ingredient.
  • Pregnancy & breastfeeding safety ratings cover 1 of 1.
  • General safety write-ups exist for 1 of 1.
  • Remember: this measures how much safety information exists. Thin data is not the same as being safe.

Nattokinase is generally well tolerated in the short term, but because of its blood-thinning effect, it's not right for people at high risk of bleeding. Rare cases of hemorrhage have been reported, including one instance of brain bleeding in someone taking it with aspirin.

Some people can also have hypersensitivity reactions to nattokinase or related compounds in natto — symptoms like throat swelling can happen within 2 hours of taking it. There isn't enough safety data for pregnancy, so it's best avoided if you're pregnant.

The same goes for breastfeeding — safety is unknown, so avoid it to be safe.

Moderate interaction found
Known Interaction Concern · database check
Moderate identified

The most serious documented interaction for these ingredients is Moderate. Check your medications for a personalized result.

Why this rating?
  • 1 of the 1 matched ingredient can interact with medications — Nattokinase.
  • The most serious interaction on file is rated Moderate.
  • Some involve high-stakes drug classes: anticoagulant / antiplatelet drugs.
  • For scale: 289 individual medications appear in the full list. A big number alone doesn't make a product dangerous — what matters is whether YOUR medication is on it, so run yours through the interaction checker on this page.

Before you take this, check your medications for blood thinners and antiplatelet drugs (like aspirin, warfarin, or clopidogrel) — nattokinase can increase bleeding risk, and there's a documented case of brain bleeding when combined with aspirin. Also let your doctor or pharmacist know if you're on blood pressure medication, since nattokinase may lower your pressure further.

The bottom line

Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no assessable stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.

Nattokinase might appeal to someone interested in cardiovascular support, but the evidence for it isn't established yet. If you're on any blood thinner, antiplatelet drug, or blood pressure medication, you need to check with your doctor or pharmacist before starting it — the bleeding and blood pressure risks are real.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding are reasons to skip it. Talk it over with your own healthcare provider to see if it makes sense for you.
