HelloPharmacist Scorecard of Nattokinase by OL Olympian Labs Incorporated
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: nattokinase, an enzyme derived from natto (fermented soybeans). The capsule also holds inactive ingredients — microcrystalline cellulose, rice flour, ascorbyl palmitate, and silica — that help form and preserve the tablet.
Does it work?
Not established
The evidence for nattokinase isn't established in our data. We hold ratings for several conditions — angina, atherosclerosis, cancer, cardiovascular disease, and chronic fatigue syndrome — but all are marked as insufficient reliable evidence to rate.
That means the research we have isn't robust enough to say whether it works for these purposes. Talk to your pharmacist about what the current literature suggests for your specific interest.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Nattokinase is generally well tolerated in the short term, but its blood-thinning effect means you need to be cautious if you have any bleeding risk — including blood clotting disorders or a history of bleeding. Rare reports of bleeding have been documented, including a serious case of brain bleeding.
Additionally, people sensitive to natto (fermented soybeans) can have allergic reactions, ranging from throat swelling to anaphylaxis — symptoms usually show up within 2 hours of taking it. The safety data advises against nattokinase during pregnancy and while breastfeeding.
There isn't enough information to know whether it's safe at those times, so it's best to avoid it.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Check with your pharmacist before taking nattokinase if you're on blood thinners or antiplatelet drugs (warfarin, aspirin, clopidogrel, and others) — Moderate risk of bleeding, including rare serious bleeding. Also check if you take blood pressure medications — nattokinase may lower your pressure further, which is also Moderate severity.
If you're sensitive to natto, don't take this product.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no established evidence rating for its marketed use. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Nattokinase may appeal to people interested in cardiovascular support, but the evidence for it isn't established in our data. More importantly, it thins the blood and lowers blood pressure, so if you take any blood thinner, antiplatelet drug, or blood pressure medication, you need to check with your pharmacist before starting.

Nattokinase by OL Olympian Labs Incorporated Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Nattokinase by OL Olympian Labs is a single-ingredient supplement that does interact with some medications.
The most serious concern is with blood thinners and antiplatelet drugs (like aspirin, warfarin, and clopidogrel). Nattokinase thins the blood itself, and combining it with these medications raises your bleeding risk — there's a documented case of brain bleeding in someone who added nattokinase to low-dose aspirin.
This is a Moderate severity interaction.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Nattokinase can also lower blood pressure. If you take blood pressure medications, it may lower your pressure further than intended, raising the risk of dizziness or lightheadedness.
That's also Moderate severity.
Altogether, these interactions span 287 individual medications. Before you start nattokinase, run your exact medications through the checker below — especially if you're on any blood thinner, antiplatelet drug, or blood pressure medication.
