What’s inside
Full disclosure
Pure Potassium Citrate contains one active ingredient: potassium in citrate form. This product has no other inactive ingredients.
Potassium is an essential mineral that helps your heart, muscles, and nerves work properly. It's especially important for keeping your heartbeat steady and maintaining normal blood pressure.
Does it work?
Couldn't assess
The product facts we hold don't include effectiveness ratings for potassium supplementation. If you're considering this for a specific health reason — like low potassium levels or a particular condition — ask your doctor or pharmacist whether supplementation is right for you and what dose makes sense.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Potassium from food is generally safe for everyone. But supplements are a different story and need care.
They can cause dangerously high blood potassium levels, especially if you have kidney disease or take certain medications. The most common side effects from oral potassium are stomach upset — abdominal pain, nausea, diarrhea, and gas.
Serious but rare effects from very high levels include irregular heartbeat, heart block, and low blood pressure. For pregnancy and breastfeeding, dietary potassium is fine, but only use supplements under medical guidance.
Talk with your doctor before starting this while pregnant or nursing.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before taking this supplement, double-check with your doctor or pharmacist if you're on potassium-sparing diuretics, ACE inhibitors, or angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs) — all carry a Moderate risk of dangerously high blood potassium when combined with potassium supplements.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no assessable stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Potassium supplements aren't something to take on your own — they need medical oversight, especially if you have kidney issues or take blood pressure or heart medications. If your doctor recommends supplementation, this product is potassium citrate in powder form with no added inactive ingredients.
Before you start, run your medications past your doctor or pharmacist to make sure they won't clash.

Pure Potassium Citrate by Micro Ingredients Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Pure Potassium Citrate by Micro Ingredients can interact with several blood pressure and heart medications through its potassium content.
The most serious concern is with potassium-sparing diuretics (water pills that hold onto potassium), ACE inhibitors, and angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs) — all of which can cause dangerously high blood potassium levels (hyperkalemia) when combined with potassium supplements.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
ACE inhibitors and ARBs are commonly used for high blood pressure and heart failure. Both work by reducing how much potassium your kidneys excrete, so adding a potassium supplement on top can push your levels too high.
Potassium-sparing diuretics like spironolactone have the same effect. All three drug types carry a Moderate severity risk of hyperkalemia with this product.
Altogether, these interactions span 62 individual medications. Before you start this supplement, run your exact blood pressure and heart medications through the checker below — and definitely talk with your doctor or pharmacist if you're on any of these drug classes.

For each ingredient in Pure Potassium Citrate with known interactions, here are the types of medications it can affect. Open any type for the detail — or search your exact drug in the checker above.
Potassium
Ace Inhibitors (Aceis)
Using ACEIs with high doses of potassium increases the risk of hyperkalemia.
ACEIs block the actions of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system and reduce potassium excretion. Concomitant use of these drugs with potassium supplements increases the risk of hyperkalemia. However, concomitant use of these drugs with moderate dietary potassium intake (about 3775-5200 mg daily) does not increase serum potassium levels.
Angiotensin Receptor Blockers (Arbs)
Using ARBs with high doses of potassium increases the risk of hyperkalemia.
ARBs block the actions of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system and reduce potassium excretion. Concomitant use of these drugs with potassium supplements increases the risk of hyperkalemia. However, concomitant use of these drugs with moderate dietary potassium intake (about 3775-5200 mg daily) does not increase serum potassium levels.
Potassium-Sparing Diuretics
Concomitant use increases the risk of hyperkalemia.
Using potassium-sparing diuretics with potassium supplements increases the risk of hyperkalemia.
