What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains shilajit extract as its single active ingredient. Shilajit is a mineral-rich substance traditionally used in Ayurvedic medicine.
There are no inactive ingredients listed in this formulation.
Does it work?
Couldn't assess
The evidence for shilajit's effectiveness in the conditions studied — Alzheimer disease, sexual dysfunction, athletic performance, benign prostatic hyperplasia, and osteopenia — is insufficient to rate. That means the research so far doesn't establish whether it works for these purposes.
The data we hold doesn't support a claim about what this product can do.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Shilajit is generally well tolerated in the research reviewed. Rarely, headache has been reported.
A case of severe allergic reaction — hives progressing to anaphylaxis — occurred in one person who increased the dose to 800 mg daily, though symptoms didn't appear at 400 mg daily for 3 months. A case of high blood pressure was reported in pregnancy, though a direct link to shilajit couldn't be confirmed.
One critical caution: unpurified shilajit may contain heavy metals or other contaminants. Use only purified, tested brands.
Avoid this product during pregnancy and while breastfeeding — there isn't enough safety data, and contamination risk is a concern.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Check your antidiabetes drugs (insulin, metformin, glibenclamide, and similar blood-sugar-lowering medications) before taking this product — there's a Moderate risk of low blood sugar if you combine them.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no assessable stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Shilajit may be worth considering if you're interested in traditional supplements, but the evidence for specific health claims isn't established yet. If you take diabetes medications, this is one to check before starting — low blood sugar is a real risk.
Talk to your pharmacist or doctor, especially if you're pregnant, breastfeeding, or on any medications.

Antidiabetes Drugs
Taking shilajit with antidiabetes drugs might increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
Most human and animal research shows that shilajit can decrease fasting plasma glucose levels. In an animal model, shilajit 100 mg per kg daily enhanced the glucose-lowering ability of both glibenclamide and metformin when given in combination over a 4 week period. Monitor blood glucose levels closely. Dose adjustments might be necessary.
