Every active ingredient lists its own amount on the label.

Why this rating?
  • The label discloses an exact amount for 1 of its 1 active ingredient.
  • No proprietary blends here — you can verify the dose of every single component.

This product contains one active ingredient: certified organic reishi mushroom extract at 500 mg per capsule. Reishi is a fungus used in traditional medicine, and this extract is the concentrated form.

The capsule also contains vegetable cellulose and organic sorghum as inactive ingredients.

Evidence for Intended Use · database check
By FDA rules, dietary supplements can’t claim to treat, cure, or prevent disease — so labels speak in careful marketing language. We discern each product’s intended use from its name, label claims, and label statements, then grade the clinical evidence for that use. How these ratings are computed
General wellness

This Reishi Mushroom product is marketed for general wellness, not a specific health condition, so there's no single claim to grade — see Reishi Mushroom's own graded uses on its monograph.

Why this rating?
  • The label markets general wellness (“overall health and wellness support”), not a specific health condition, so there is no single claim to grade against clinical-evidence data.

The evidence for reishi's effectiveness is limited. For high cholesterol (hyperlipidemia), reishi is rated possibly ineffective based on available data.

For altitude sickness, Alzheimer disease, and athletic performance, we don't have enough reliable evidence to know whether it works. If you're considering this for one of those uses, talk with your pharmacist about what the research actually supports.

How safe is it?

Well-documented data
Safety Information · database check
Well characterized

Adverse-effect, pregnancy, and general safety data are on file for most of these ingredients.

Why this rating?
  • We hold adverse-effect (side-effect) data for 1 of the 1 matched ingredient.
  • Pregnancy & breastfeeding safety ratings cover 1 of 1.
  • General safety write-ups exist for 1 of 1.
  • Remember: this measures how much safety information exists. Thin data is not the same as being safe.

Reishi mushroom is generally well tolerated in the short term, but long-term safety hasn't been well studied, so that's something to keep in mind if you're thinking of taking it for months. Common side effects include dizziness, dry mouth, itching, nausea, rash, and stomach upset.

Respiratory allergies to reishi spores can happen, and some people report sore throat or runny nose. Rare effects include insomnia and headache.

Based on available safety data, reishi is best avoided during pregnancy and while breastfeeding. If you're pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or nursing, talk with your doctor or pharmacist before taking this product.

The bottom line

Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula marketed for general wellness rather than one specific gradeable purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.

Reishi mushroom is a traditional supplement with limited proven benefits and some real medication interactions you need to watch for—especially if you're on blood pressure drugs, blood thinners, or diabetes medications. If you fall into those groups or take any prescription medication at all, check your exact drugs on this page before starting.

It's generally well tolerated short-term, but long-term safety data is sparse.
