Every active ingredient lists its own amount on the label.

Why this rating?
  • The label discloses an exact amount for 1 of its 1 active ingredient.
  • No proprietary blends here — you can verify the dose of every single component.

This product contains one active ingredient: reishi mushroom, 600 mg per capsule. Reishi is a fungus used in traditional medicine for centuries.

The capsule itself is filled with inactive ingredients — gelatin, magnesium stearate, silica, and microcrystalline cellulose — which are common binders and fillers.

Evidence for Intended Use · database check
By FDA rules, dietary supplements can’t claim to treat, cure, or prevent disease — so labels speak in careful marketing language. We discern each product’s intended use from its name, label claims, and label statements, then grade the clinical evidence for that use. How these ratings are computed
Not established

The graded evidence we hold for these ingredients covers different conditions than the ones this product is marketed for, so there's no established rating for its stated use — see Reishi Mushroom's own graded uses on its monograph.

Why this rating?
  • The label markets this product for: Maintains immune health, liver health, and stress response.
  • We looked for evidence on: Stress, Psychological well-being, Influenza, Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), Hepatitis B, immune function — and 2 related terms.
  • The closest evidence on file: Reishi Mushroom is rated "Insufficient Reliable Evidence To Rate" for Hepatitis B (Natural Medicines).
  • Also on file: Reishi Mushroom is rated "Insufficient Reliable Evidence To Rate" for Influenza, Stress, Psychological well-being, Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

The evidence for reishi is limited. For high cholesterol (hyperlipidemia), reishi appears to be possibly ineffective.

For other uses — altitude sickness, Alzheimer disease, and athletic performance — there isn't enough reliable evidence in our data to rate whether it works.

How safe is it?

Well-documented data
Safety Information · database check
Well characterized

Adverse-effect, pregnancy, and general safety data are on file for most of these ingredients.

Why this rating?
  • We hold adverse-effect (side-effect) data for 1 of the 1 matched ingredient.
  • Pregnancy & breastfeeding safety ratings cover 1 of 1.
  • General safety write-ups exist for 1 of 1.
  • Remember: this measures how much safety information exists. Thin data is not the same as being safe.

Reishi is generally well tolerated in the short term, but we don't have much data on long-term use. The most common side effects are dizziness, dry mouth, itching, nausea, rash, and stomach upset.

Some people have reported respiratory allergies to reishi spores, with sore throat and runny nose. Rare side effects include insomnia and headache.

If you're pregnant or breastfeeding, there isn't enough safety data, so it's best to avoid this product. Talk with your pharmacist or doctor before taking it if you're in either situation.

Moderate interaction found
Known Interaction Concern · database check
Moderate identified

The most serious documented interaction for these ingredients is Moderate. Check your medications for a personalized result.

Why this rating?
  • 1 of the 1 matched ingredient can interact with medications — Reishi Mushroom.
  • The most serious interaction on file is rated Moderate.
  • Some involve high-stakes drug classes: anticoagulant / antiplatelet drugs; diabetes medications.
  • For scale: 375 individual medications appear in the full list. A big number alone doesn't make a product dangerous — what matters is whether YOUR medication is on it, so run yours through the interaction checker on this page.

Before taking reishi, double-check if you're on blood thinners (anticoagulants or antiplatelet drugs), blood pressure medications, or diabetes drugs — all three carry a Moderate interaction risk. No interactions are documented in our data for any other drug types.
