RememBrain contains four active ingredients. Vitamin B12 is an essential nutrient your body needs for nerve function, red blood cells, and DNA; this product supplies it in a form your body can use.
Phosphatidyl serine is a compound found naturally in your brain cells that plays a role in cell communication. Alpha-GPC is another brain-supporting compound that supplies choline, which your body uses to make acetylcholine (a chemical messenger in the brain).
The fourth ingredient is huperzine A, a plant-derived compound. The product also contains several inactive ingredients—cellulose, cellulose powder, silica, magnesium stearate, and stearic acid—which serve as binders and fillers to hold the capsule together.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The evidence for RememBrain's ingredients is mixed. Vitamin B12 is effective for treating B12 deficiency itself, and is likely effective for cyanide poisoning; it's possibly effective for canker sores and postherpetic neuralgia (nerve pain after shingles).
Phosphatidyl serine is possibly effective for age-related cognitive decline and Alzheimer disease, but evidence is insufficient for ADHD, cognitive function generally, or dementia. Alpha-GPC is possibly effective for Alzheimer disease, but evidence is insufficient for brain tumors, cognitive function, vascular dementia, or stroke.

How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Vitamin B12 is generally very safe and is needed during both pregnancy and breastfeeding at normal recommended amounts; follow your provider's guidance. Phosphatidyl serine is generally well tolerated in studies, but long-term safety isn't fully established, and the data advises against use in pregnancy and while breastfeeding because there isn't enough safety information.
Alpha-GPC is also generally well tolerated in studies, but long-term safety isn't fully established, and the data advises against it in pregnancy and while breastfeeding unless your doctor directs you to use it. Common side effects with phosphatidyl serine include flatulence, stomach upset, headache, insomnia (especially at higher doses), and nausea.
Alpha-GPC is rarely associated with dizziness, headache, insomnia, nausea, heartburn, or diarrhea; rarely, it has been linked with stroke when used for at least two months. Vitamin B12 is very well tolerated when taken by mouth, though allergic reactions like rash or hives are possible.

Before taking RememBrain, double-check with your doctor or pharmacist if you take anticholinergic drugs (such as medications for overactive bladder or certain neurological conditions) or cholinergic drugs (such as medications for myasthenia gravis or Alzheimer disease)—phosphatidyl serine may interfere with how these work. Also check if you take metformin for diabetes, as vitamin B12 and metformin can interact and affect your B12 levels.
If you use a scopolamine patch (Transderm Scop) for motion sickness, alpha-GPC may decrease its effectiveness.

Theoretically, alpha-GPC might decrease the effects of scopolamine.
A small clinical study shows that alpha-GPC can partially counteract the attention and memory impairment effects caused by scopolamine given intramuscularly. Whether alpha-GPC can decrease the beneficial anti-motion sickness effects of the scopolamine patch (Transderm Scop) is unclear.
