What’s inside
Full disclosure
Royal Jelly Powder is a single-ingredient product. Royal jelly is a creamy secretion that honeybees produce to feed their queen; it's collected and dried into powder form.
The product contains no inactive ingredients or fillers.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The evidence for royal jelly is mixed. It's possibly effective for menopausal symptoms.
For allergic rhinitis (hay fever), diabetes, and physical performance, the data suggests it's possibly ineffective. For hair loss (androgenic alopecia), there isn't enough reliable evidence to say whether it works or not.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Royal jelly is generally well tolerated in most people. However, if you have a history of asthma or allergies (atopy), you need to be careful — it can trigger serious allergic reactions including itching, hives, eczema, swelling of the face and eyelids, wheezing, difficulty breathing, and in rare cases, anaphylaxis or life-threatening airway closure.
There's also one case report of bleeding in the colon with bloody diarrhea after royal jelly use. There isn't enough safety information to recommend royal jelly during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.
Talk with your doctor or pharmacist before using it if you're pregnant or nursing.
Meds to double-check

Check your medications if you take warfarin (Coumadin) or any blood pressure medications before starting this product. These are the drug types with documented interactions in our data.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with some supporting evidence behind its ingredients' uses. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Royal jelly may be worth considering if you're dealing with menopausal symptoms and you don't have asthma or a history of allergies. If you take warfarin or blood pressure medications, check with your pharmacist first — the interaction risk is real.
Anyone with asthma or allergic tendencies should avoid it entirely.
