What’s inside
Full disclosure
Sang Bai Pi is a single-ingredient liquid extract made from the dried root bark of Morus alba (white mulberry), a plant used in traditional herbal medicine. The extract is suspended in a menstruum, which is the liquid base used to dissolve and deliver the herb.
Does it work?
Couldn't assess
The evidence we hold on white mulberry for most uses is insufficient to rate. That includes androgenic alopecia (male-pattern hair loss), osteoporosis, common cold, diabetes, and high cholesterol — meaning the data doesn't yet support or rule out whether it works for these conditions.
What we do know from research is that white mulberry can lower blood glucose in the lab; whether that translates to a real benefit for diabetes management isn't established in our data.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
White mulberry leaf used as food is generally well tolerated, but concentrated supplements like this one are less studied. The safety data advises against medicinal amounts during pregnancy and breastfeeding because there isn't enough information to know whether it's safe for the baby.
In clinical trials, white mulberry was associated with transient bloating, constipation, flatulence, and loose stools — most commonly bloating and gas in about half of participants. The good news: these digestive side effects often settled down over time as patients continued taking it.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before taking this product, double-check any antidiabetes drugs you're on — white mulberry can lower blood sugar and increase the risk of hypoglycemia. Also confirm with your pharmacist if you take any medications that are OCT2 substrates, especially if your doctor mentioned they're filtered by your kidneys.
These are moderate-severity interactions, so it's worth a quick conversation before you start.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no assessable stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Sang Bai Pi may be worth considering if you're interested in white mulberry for general wellness, but the evidence for specific health claims is still being developed. If you take any diabetes medication or any drug that your kidneys filter, talk with your doctor or pharmacist before starting this — the interactions can affect how well those drugs work.
Digestive upset is common at first but usually improves. Check your medications on this page before you buy.

Sang Bai Pi by Herbal Terra Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Sang Bai Pi by Herbal Terra contains white mulberry root bark, which interacts with antidiabetes drugs and a group of medications cleared by a kidney transporter called OCT2.
The most serious concern is a moderate-severity interaction with antidiabetes medications — white mulberry can lower blood sugar, which means if you're already taking a drug to bring your glucose down, combining them could tip you into low blood sugar (hypoglycemia). Clinical research confirms white mulberry lowers blood glucose on its own.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
The second moderate-severity interaction affects OCT2 substrates — a category of drugs your kidneys filter using a specific transporter protein. Animal research shows white mulberry can slow that process, potentially raising the levels and side effects of these medications.
Metformin, a common diabetes drug, is one example.
Always check your exact medications with the tool on this page before you start, especially if you take any diabetes drug or any medication your doctor said is filtered through your kidneys.

Antidiabetes Drugs
Theoretically, white mulberry leaf might increase the risk of hypoglycemia when taken with antidiabetes drugs.
Clinical research shows that white mulberry leaf can lower blood glucose levels. Advise patients to monitor glucose levels closely.
Organic Cation Transporter 2 (Oct2) Substrates
Theoretically, white mulberry leaf might slow the elimination and increase the adverse effects of drugs which are OCT2 substrates.
Animal research shows that coadministration of white mulberry leaf extract with metformin, an OCT2 substrate, slows the renal elimination of metformin via inhibition of OCT2 activity. OCT2 is expressed in the kidneys and is responsible for transporting cationic drugs into tubular epithelial cells in order to be excreted in the urine.
