HelloPharmacist Scorecard of Ultimate Krill Oil by InfoWars Life
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
Ultimate Krill Oil contains 4 active ingredients: krill oil itself (a marine source of omega-3 fatty acids), eicosapentaenoic acid and docosahexaenoic acid (the two main omega-3s found in krill), and astaxanthin (a pigment from krill with antioxidant properties). The product also contains gelatin, glycerin, and purified water as inactive ingredients to form the softgel capsule.
Does it work?
Couldn't assess
We don't have effectiveness data on file for krill oil itself as a product. Astaxanthin, one of its components, has been studied for age-related cognitive decline, age-related macular degeneration (AMD), aging skin, Alzheimer disease, athletic performance, and carpal tunnel syndrome — but the evidence for all of these is insufficient to make a reliable claim.
Whether the omega-3 content of krill oil works for any particular condition isn't something our data covers for this product.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Astaxanthin is generally well tolerated in studies, though long-term safety data are limited. The most common side effects from oral astaxanthin are abdominal pain, diarrhea, and red-colored stools — a harmless but noticeable discoloration.
At standard doses (around 6 mg daily), these are rare; at much higher doses (40 mg daily), severe stomach pain has occurred in a small number of people. During pregnancy and breastfeeding, there isn't enough safety data, so it's best to avoid this product and talk with your doctor or pharmacist for personalized advice.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before you take Ultimate Krill Oil, check with your doctor or pharmacist if you're on drugs metabolized by CYP3A4 (Moderate interaction concern) or CYP2B6 (Moderate interaction concern). Both are common drug-processing pathways in the liver, so this is worth confirming.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no assessable stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Krill oil products appeal to people looking for omega-3 fatty acids from a marine source. If you take medications metabolized by your liver — especially certain heart, blood pressure, or psychiatric drugs — you'll want to check this one against your exact medications before you start.
Talk with your doctor or pharmacist about whether the astaxanthin in this product is a concern for you.

Ultimate Krill Oil by InfoWars Life Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Ultimate Krill Oil by InfoWars Life contains astaxanthin, which has documented interactions with two categories of medications through its effects on how your liver processes drugs.
The most serious concern is with drugs metabolized by CYP3A4 substrates — astaxanthin may theoretically decrease their levels, though this hasn't been proven in humans yet, only in lab work. The same theoretical risk applies to drugs metabolized by CYP2B6 substrates, also rated Moderate severity.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
We couldn't check three other active ingredients in this product — eicosapentaenoic acid, docosahexaenoic acid, and phospholipids — because we hold no interaction data for them. That doesn't mean they're free of interactions; it means we simply don't have the information.
Altogether, these interactions span 672 individual medications.
If you take any prescription medications, especially those processed by your liver, run them through the interaction checker below before you start this product. Your doctor or pharmacist can tell you whether any of your drugs fall into these categories and whether the theoretical risk matters for you.

Krill Oil
Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs
Theoretically, krill oil may increase the risk of bleeding if used with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.
Taking high doses of omega-3 fatty acids from fish oil can modestly decrease platelet aggregation. Since krill oil also contains these fatty acids, taking high doses of krill oil might also inhibit platelet aggregation. Theoretically, taking high doses of krill oil with antiplatelet or anticoagulant drugs might increase the risk of bleeding. However, the omega-3 content of krill oil is much lower than that of fish oil.
Antidiabetes Drugs
Theoretically, taking krill oil with antidiabetes drugs might increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
Some research in animals and humans shows that krill oil might lower blood glucose levels. However, a small study shows that taking krill oil does not reduce blood glucose levels in patients with type 2 diabetes, most of whom were taking antidiabetes drugs.
