UltraBiotic Max Ingredients & Drug Interactions
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking UltraBiotic Max against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

HelloPharmacist Scorecard of UltraBiotic Max by HoltraCeuticals
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
UltraBiotic Max contains 6 active probiotic ingredients: Lactobacillus acidophilus, Bifidobacterium animalis lactis, Lactobacillus plantarum, Bifidobacterium bifidum, Lactobacillus salivarius, and Lactobacillus casei. These are live beneficial bacteria meant to support your gut health.
The product also contains two inactive ingredients — Larch Arabinogalactan and Silicon Dioxide — which are fillers and binders that help form the capsule.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The evidence for these probiotics is mixed and depends on what you're taking them for. Lactobacillus acidophilus is possibly effective for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), Helicobacter pylori infection, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, and bacterial vaginosis, but the data suggest it's possibly ineffective for atopic disease (eczema and similar allergies), and there isn't enough reliable evidence to rate it for acute respiratory distress syndrome.
Bifidobacterium bifidum is possibly effective for IBS and respiratory tract infections, but we don't have enough reliable evidence to say whether it helps with hay fever, Alzheimer's disease, or generalized anxiety. For the other four strains, the evidence data we hold doesn't establish effectiveness for any condition.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium bifidum are both generally well tolerated in healthy adults and children, though both notes suggest checking with your doctor before starting — the data are limited. The main concern with live probiotic bacteria is that they contain active organisms; rarely, in people with very weak immune systems or severe illness, there's a theoretical risk of infection spreading from the gut.
Mild side effects like bloating, flatulence, abdominal discomfort, and diarrhea can occur, though these are uncommon. One clinical trial reported a couple of rashes in people taking a multi-strain probiotic combination, but it's unclear whether the probiotics themselves or something else caused it.
No pregnancy or breastfeeding safety data are on file for any of these ingredients.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Antibiotic drugs are the main type to double-check: if you're on antibiotics, don't take this probiotic at the same time — separate the doses by at least a few hours so the antibiotics don't kill the beneficial bacteria. We couldn't check the other four probiotic strains in this product, so use the medication checker below to see if your exact drugs have any data we might hold on those ingredients.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
This product is a multi-strain probiotic geared at digestive and immune support, with some evidence behind a couple of its ingredients for IBS and infection-related diarrhea. If you take antibiotics, you'll need to space out your doses.
People with severely weakened immune systems should talk to their doctor before starting. Check your exact medications with the tool on this page, and ask your pharmacist before you begin — especially if you're pregnant, breastfeeding, or have any serious illness.

UltraBiotic Max by HoltraCeuticals Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
UltraBiotic Max by HoltraCeuticals contains six probiotic strains, two of which we've checked against medication data.
The most serious interaction we found is with antibiotic drugs: both Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium bifidum, when taken at the same time as antibiotics, might be killed off by those drugs, making the probiotics less effective. This is a Moderate-severity concern.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Altogether, these interactions span 182 individual medications. We were unable to check Bifidobacterium animalis lactis, Lactobacillus plantarum, Lactobacillus salivarius, and Lactobacillus casei — we hold no data for these ingredients, so we can't say whether they interact with any drugs.
If you take an antibiotic, the key thing is timing: space out the antibiotic dose and your probiotic dose so they're not taken together. Your pharmacist can help you work out the best schedule.
Use the medication search tool on this page to check your exact drugs before you start.

Lactobacillus acidophilus
Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking Lactobacillus acidophilus with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of L. acidophilus.
L. acidophilus preparations usually contain live and active organisms. Therefore, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and L. acidophilus preparations by at least two hours.
Bifidobacterium bifidum
Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking Bifidobacterium. bifidum with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of B. bifidum.
Since B. bifidum preparations usually contain live and active organisms, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and B. bifidum preparations by at least 2 hours.
