Every active ingredient lists its own amount on the label.

Why this rating?
  • The label discloses an exact amount for 1 of its 1 active ingredient.
  • No proprietary blends here — you can verify the dose of every single component.

This product contains one active ingredient: white mulberry leaf extract. The capsule itself is made from vegetable cellulose, an inert filler that holds the extract.

White mulberry leaf is the dried or concentrated form of leaves from the white mulberry tree, traditionally used in some cultures. The extract is what you're getting here—a concentrated version of the leaf's active compounds.

Evidence for Intended Use · database check
By FDA rules, dietary supplements can’t claim to treat, cure, or prevent disease — so labels speak in careful marketing language. We discern each product’s intended use from its name, label claims, and label statements, then grade the clinical evidence for that use. How these ratings are computed
Not assessable

This is a single-ingredient White Mulberry product and its label doesn't state a use — see White Mulberry's own graded uses on its monograph.

Why this rating?
  • We looked at the product name, claims, and label statements and couldn't find a stated purpose to grade.

The evidence we hold doesn't establish that white mulberry extract works reliably for any of the conditions it's marketed for. The data rates it as insufficient reliable evidence for androgenic alopecia (male pattern hair loss), osteoporosis, common cold, diabetes, and high cholesterol (hyperlipidemia).

That means we simply don't have solid clinical proof yet—not that it doesn't work, just that it hasn't been proven in the studies we've reviewed.

How safe is it?

Well-documented data
Safety Information · database check
Well characterized

Adverse-effect, pregnancy, and general safety data are on file for most of these ingredients.

Why this rating?
  • We hold adverse-effect (side-effect) data for 1 of the 1 matched ingredient.
  • Pregnancy & breastfeeding safety ratings cover 1 of 1.
  • General safety write-ups exist for 1 of 1.
  • Remember: this measures how much safety information exists. Thin data is not the same as being safe.

White mulberry leaf is generally well tolerated when taken by mouth. The most common side effects are mild and digestive: bloating, constipation, loose stools, and gas.

In one clinical study, about half of participants reported bloating or gas, a quarter had loose stools, and one-fifth had constipation—but these effects tended to get better as people continued taking it over the 12 weeks, suggesting they may ease with time. Because this supplement can lower blood sugar, use it with caution if you're prone to low blood sugar.

There isn't enough safety data to recommend white mulberry in medicinal amounts during pregnancy or while breastfeeding—talk with your doctor or pharmacist before using it if you're in either situation.

The most serious documented interaction for these ingredients is Moderate. Check your medications for a personalized result.

Why this rating?
  • 1 of the 1 matched ingredient can interact with medications — White Mulberry.
  • The most serious interaction on file is rated Moderate.
  • Some involve high-stakes drug classes: diabetes medications.
  • For scale: 87 individual medications appear in the full list. A big number alone doesn't make a product dangerous — what matters is whether YOUR medication is on it, so run yours through the interaction checker on this page.

Check with your doctor or pharmacist before taking this product if you're on antidiabetes medications (insulin, metformin, sulfonylureas, and others that lower blood sugar) or medications that are OCT2 substrates—a kidney-filtering group that includes some antibiotics, antivirals, and other drugs. Both interactions are Moderate severity and can affect how well your medications work or raise their side effects.

The bottom line

Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no assessable stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.

White mulberry extract may be worth considering if you're curious about traditional uses and your doctor gives the okay, but the evidence for treating specific health conditions isn't solid yet. The main caution is if you take antidiabetes drugs or medications filtered through your kidneys—those need a careful check with your doctor or pharmacist first, because white mulberry can interact.

Mild digestive side effects are common early on but often settle down.

Antidiabetes Drugs

Theoretically, white mulberry leaf might increase the risk of hypoglycemia when taken with antidiabetes drugs.
Clinical research shows that white mulberry leaf can lower blood glucose levels. Advise patients to monitor glucose levels closely.

Likelihood Possible Evidence D
Organic Cation Transporter 2 (Oct2) Substrates

Theoretically, white mulberry leaf might slow the elimination and increase the adverse effects of drugs which are OCT2 substrates.
Animal research shows that coadministration of white mulberry leaf extract with metformin, an OCT2 substrate, slows the renal elimination of metformin via inhibition of OCT2 activity. OCT2 is expressed in the kidneys and is responsible for transporting cationic drugs into tubular epithelial cells in order to be excreted in the urine.

White Mulberry Extract by Infiniti Creations: Common Questions

Does White Mulberry Extract by Infiniti Creations interact with any medications?
Yes. Based on its ingredients, White Mulberry Extract has a known interaction with 87 medications. Use the checker to see how it interacts with a specific drug.
How can one product interact with so many drugs?
White Mulberry Extract contains a single active ingredient, and that one ingredient can interact with many different medications on its own. We check it against each medication and show the mechanism responsible.
Where does this information come from?
The product label data comes from the NIH Dietary Supplement Label Database (DSLD); the interaction data is built on the Natural Medicines database and reviewed by HelloPharmacist pharmacists.
Will white mulberry extract lower my blood sugar?
Clinical research shows that white mulberry leaf can lower blood glucose levels, so yes—it has that effect. If you're diabetic or take antidiabetes drugs, this is important to know. You'll need to monitor your blood sugar closely and talk with your doctor about whether it's safe for you.
Is it safe to take while pregnant or breastfeeding?
There isn't enough safety data to recommend medicinal amounts of white mulberry during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. If you're pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding, talk with your doctor or pharmacist before using this supplement.
What are the side effects?
The most common ones are digestive: bloating, gas, loose stools, and constipation. In one study, about half of people reported bloating or gas early on, but these effects often got better over time as they kept taking it. White mulberry is generally well tolerated overall.
Does it really work for diabetes?
The evidence we hold is insufficient to say it reliably works for diabetes. While white mulberry leaf can lower blood sugar, we don't have solid clinical proof that it's an effective treatment for the condition itself.
What is white mulberry leaf, and why is it in supplements?
It's the dried leaf from the white mulberry tree, used in traditional medicine in some cultures. The extract concentrates its active compounds. It's marketed for a range of uses, though evidence for most of them isn't established yet.
Can I take this if I'm on metformin?
You need to check with your doctor first. White mulberry interacts with metformin in two ways: it lowers blood sugar (which metformin also does, raising your low-sugar risk) and it slows your kidneys' ability to clear metformin, which can raise the drug's level in your blood. This requires personalized medical advice.
