HelloPharmacist Scorecard of White Mulberry Leaf by ProCaps Laboratories
Four independent checks of what is known — a summary of the available information, not a grade of the product itself.
By FDA rules, dietary supplements can’t claim to treat, cure, or prevent disease — so labels speak in careful marketing language. We discern each product’s intended use from its name, label claims, and label statements, then grade the clinical evidence for that use. How these ratings are computed
The stated purpose hasn't been mapped to our evidence data yet.
Why this rating?
- We haven't mapped this product's purpose to our evidence data yet — it'll be graded on the next content refresh.
Every active ingredient lists its own amount on the label.
Why this rating?
- The label discloses an exact amount for 1 of its 1 active ingredient.
- No proprietary blends here — you can verify the dose of every single component.
The most serious documented interaction for these ingredients is Moderate. Check your medications for a personalized result.
Why this rating?
- 1 of the 1 matched ingredient can interact with medications — White Mulberry.
- The most serious interaction on file is rated Moderate.
- Some involve high-stakes drug classes: diabetes medications.
- For scale: 87 individual medications appear in the full list. A big number alone doesn't make a product dangerous — what matters is whether YOUR medication is on it, so run yours through the interaction checker on this page.
Adverse-effect, pregnancy, and general safety data are on file for most of these ingredients.
Why this rating?
- We hold adverse-effect (side-effect) data for 1 of the 1 matched ingredient.
- Pregnancy & breastfeeding safety ratings cover 1 of 1.
- General safety write-ups exist for 1 of 1.
- Remember: this measures how much safety information exists. Thin data is not the same as being safe.
HelloPharmacist summaryFully disclosed formula with no assessable stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.

Healthy Blood Sugar Balance Glucose and Insulin Metabolism
As one of the oldest traditional Chinese remedies, it should come as no surprise that modern science would one day recognize the health benefits of white mulberry leaf. In Asia, its leaves have been prized for centuries for their health-promoting properties. More recently, white mulberry leaf has received scientific recognition for its unique ability to support healthy blood sugar balance, as well as healthy glucose and insulin metabolism. These benefits result from its apparent ability to reduce the breakdown and absorption of dietary sugars and carbohydrate. Clinical research attributes these benefits to white mulberry leaf's high levels of the iminosugar 1-deoxynojirimycin; however, these benefits require more than simply consuming dried white mulberry leaves or pills, but instead require a standardized extract of white mulberry leaf targeting high levels of 1-deoxynojirimycin. In short, if the extract is not specifically standardized to deliver high levels of this naturally occurring iminosugar compound then there is no way to expect or ensure any benefits.
Contains no additives or common allergens Contains no Milk, soy, yeast, corn, wheat, gluten, sodium, salt, sugar, cholesterol, color, preservative, common allergens, genetically modified (GMO) ingredients or manufacturing additives.

White Mulberry Leaf Extract
Antidiabetes Drugs
Theoretically, white mulberry leaf might increase the risk of hypoglycemia when taken with antidiabetes drugs.
Clinical research shows that white mulberry leaf can lower blood glucose levels. Advise patients to monitor glucose levels closely.
Organic Cation Transporter 2 (Oct2) Substrates
Theoretically, white mulberry leaf might slow the elimination and increase the adverse effects of drugs which are OCT2 substrates.
Animal research shows that coadministration of white mulberry leaf extract with metformin, an OCT2 substrate, slows the renal elimination of metformin via inhibition of OCT2 activity. OCT2 is expressed in the kidneys and is responsible for transporting cationic drugs into tubular epithelial cells in order to be excreted in the urine.
