Cyclophosphamide falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Acacia Rigidula interacts with.

Theoretically, Acacia rigidula products that are adulterated with beta-methylphenylethylamine (BMPEA) might increase the levels of CYP3A4 substrates.
In vitro research shows that BMPEA, an adulterant found in many Acacia rigidula products, inhibits CYP3A4 enzyme by 37%.

Here's something worth knowing about cyclophosphamide (Cytoxan). This is a chemotherapy drug, and it's actually a prodrug, meaning your liver has to switch it on before it can fight cancer. The enzyme CYP3A4 is part of that activation process. Some Acacia rigidula products have been found spiked with a stimulant called BMPEA, and in lab tests BMPEA slowed CYP3A4 down by about a third.

If that enzyme is partly blocked, the way your body activates and clears cyclophosphamide can shift, which could change how well it works or how harsh its side effects (like nausea, low blood counts, or bladder irritation) feel. To be fair, this is only based on lab data, not human studies. Still, with chemo there's no room to guess. Please talk with your oncologist or pharmacist before using any product like this.

Acacia rigidula is a shrub from Texas and Mexico that is marketed in weight-loss and energy supplements. There is very little reliable human evidence that it works, and some products have been found to contain an unapproved stimulant drug (BMPEA), which raises real safety concerns. About Cyclophosphamide

What Is Cyclophosphamide Used For?

Brand names: Cytoxan, Neosar

Cyclophosphamide is used to treat many types of cancer in adults and children, including malignant lymphomas (such as Hodgkin's disease and Burkitt's lymphoma), multiple myeloma, several forms of leukemia, breast cancer, ovarian cancer, neuroblastoma, retinoblastoma, and advanced mycosis fungoides (a type of skin lymphoma). It is often given alongside other chemotherapy drugs rather than on its own.

Oral and injectable powder formulations (but not the Cyclophosphamide Injection solution concentrate) are also approved for minimal change nephrotic syndrome — a kidney condition — in children who have not responded well to, or cannot tolerate, steroid therapy. The injectable solution concentrate is approved for adult patients only due to its alcohol content, and is not approved for use in children.
