Amphetamine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES — the group Acacia Rigidula interacts with.

Theoretically, Acacia rigidula products that are adulterated with beta-methylphenylethylamine (BMPEA) might increase the levels of CYP2D6 substrates.
In vitro research shows that BMPEA, an adulterant found in many Acacia rigidula products, strongly inhibits CYP2D6 enzyme.

Here's the situation with these two together. Some Acacia rigidula products have been found spiked with a hidden stimulant called BMPEA, and lab studies suggest BMPEA can block an enzyme in your liver called CYP2D6. That enzyme is one pathway your body uses to clear amphetamine. If it's slowed down, more amphetamine can linger in your system, which can mean stronger stimulant effects like a faster or pounding heartbeat, higher blood pressure, jitteriness, trouble sleeping, and feeling on edge.

On top of that, BMPEA is itself a stimulant, so you'd essentially be stacking two stimulants. I'll be honest: this interaction is based on lab data, not human studies, so it's theoretical. Still, given the real safety questions around these products, please check with your doctor or pharmacist before combining them.

Here's the simple version: amphetamine is already a strong stimulant for your heart and nervous system. Acacia rigidula products may contain their own stimulant-like compounds (natural amines and, in some tested products, an unapproved stimulant called BMPEA). Stacking two stimulants together can pile on the effects you'd expect from amphetamine alone, like a faster or pounding heartbeat, higher blood pressure, jitteriness, trouble sleeping, and feeling anxious or wired.

I want to be honest about the strength of this: it's a theoretical concern based on how these ingredients behave, not solid human studies. But because the cardiovascular risk is real and the quality of these supplements is unpredictable, I'd play it safe. Please don't start, stop, or change your amphetamine, and check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding any Acacia rigidula product.

What Is Amphetamine Used For?

Brand names: Dyanavel XR, Adensys XR-ODT, Mydayis, Adzenys ER

Amphetamine treats Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in patients 6 years and older. Adzenys XR-ODT, Dyanavel XR, and the amphetamine extended-release orally disintegrating tablet formulations are specifically approved for ADHD in this age group.

Amphetamine Sulfate tablets and Evekeo (amphetamine sulfate tablets) are also approved for narcolepsy (a sleep disorder causing uncontrollable daytime sleepiness) and as a short-term aid in a calorie-restricted weight-loss program for exogenous obesity (weight gain from external factors like overeating) in patients who have not responded to other approaches.
