Fexofenadine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Acacia Rigidula interacts with.

Theoretically, Acacia rigidula products that are adulterated with beta-methylphenylethylamine (BMPEA) might increase the levels of CYP3A4 substrates.
In vitro research shows that BMPEA, an adulterant found in many Acacia rigidula products, inhibits CYP3A4 enzyme by 37%.

Here's the honest take: this concern is mostly theoretical and rests on lab (test tube) data, not real people. The idea is that some Acacia rigidula products are secretly spiked with a stimulant called BMPEA, which slightly slowed down a liver enzyme (CYP3A4) in a dish. If that happened in your body, a medicine cleared by that enzyme could build up a bit.

Now, the good news for Allegra (fexofenadine): it actually depends very little on CYP3A4. It's mostly carried out of your body unchanged through transporters in your gut and kidneys, not broken down by this enzyme. So a real-world interaction here is unlikely. The bigger issue is the hidden stimulant itself, which can raise heart rate and blood pressure. I'd skip Acacia rigidula products and check with your pharmacist first.

What Is Fexofenadine Used For?

Brand name: Allegra

Fexofenadine temporarily relieves symptoms of hay fever (seasonal allergic rhinitis) and other upper respiratory allergies, including runny nose, sneezing, itchy or watery eyes, and itching of the nose or throat.

Several products — including Allegra Hives 24hr tablets — are specifically used to reduce hives (urticaria) and relieve the itching that comes with them. Keep in mind that fexofenadine will not prevent hives or stop an allergic skin reaction from happening in the first place.
