Norgestrel falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Acacia Rigidula interacts with.

Theoretically, Acacia rigidula products that are adulterated with beta-methylphenylethylamine (BMPEA) might increase the levels of CYP3A4 substrates.
In vitro research shows that BMPEA, an adulterant found in many Acacia rigidula products, inhibits CYP3A4 enzyme by 37%.

Here's the gist for your mini-pill. Norgestrel is processed in the body partly by a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. Some Acacia rigidula products have been found to contain a hidden stimulant called BMPEA, and in lab dish studies that compound slowed CYP3A4 down by about a third. In theory, that could let norgestrel build up a little, which might mean more progestin-type effects like spotting, breast tenderness, mood changes, or headaches.

I want to be honest with you though: this is based only on test-tube research, not real people, so it's a maybe, not a sure thing. The bigger worry is that these supplements are often adulterated and not well studied. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before mixing the two, and don't stop your birth control on your own.

What Is Progestin-Only (norethindrone) Oral Contraceptives Used For?

Brand names: Ovrette, Orval 21

Norethindrone progestin-only pills — sometimes called the "mini-pill" — are used solely to prevent pregnancy. They do not contain estrogen, which makes them an option for women who cannot or prefer not to use estrogen-containing contraceptives.

When taken perfectly (same time every day, no missed pills), fewer than 1 in 100 women will become pregnant in the first year. With typical use, that number rises to about 9 in 100 — mostly because of late or skipped pills. Consistency is everything with this method.
