Venetoclax falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Acacia Rigidula interacts with.

Theoretically, Acacia rigidula products that are adulterated with beta-methylphenylethylamine (BMPEA) might increase the levels of CYP3A4 substrates.
In vitro research shows that BMPEA, an adulterant found in many Acacia rigidula products, inhibits CYP3A4 enzyme by 37%.

Here's the concern with pairing Acacia rigidula and Venclexta (venetoclax). Your body clears venetoclax mainly through a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. Some Acacia rigidula products have been found spiked with a stimulant called BMPEA, and lab studies suggest BMPEA can slow that same enzyme down a bit. If venetoclax isn't broken down as fast, it can build up in your blood and hit harder than intended.

That matters because higher venetoclax levels can mean more low blood counts, infections, nausea, diarrhea, and a serious risk called tumor lysis syndrome. Keep in mind this is only based on lab data, not real patient studies, so it's theoretical. Still, with a cancer drug like this, I'd avoid Acacia rigidula and check with your oncology team first.

About Venetoclax

What Is Venetoclax Used For?

Brand name: Venclexta

Venetoclax treats two types of blood cancers: chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) and small lymphocytic lymphoma (SLL) in adults. It can be used alone or in combination with other medicines such as obinutuzumab, rituximab, or acalabrutinib.

Venclexta is also used in combination with azacitidine, decitabine, or low-dose cytarabine for newly diagnosed acute myeloid leukemia (AML) in adults aged 75 or older, or in adults who cannot tolerate intensive chemotherapy due to other health conditions.
