Androstenediol + Rosuvastatin
Rosuvastatin brand names: Crestor, Ezallor.
We found no known interaction between Androstenediol and Rosuvastatin in our sources. Absence of a documented interaction is not the same as proven safety, and does not guarantee one does not exist. Do not start, stop, or change a medication or supplement based on this page; confirm with your pharmacist or doctor first.
Androstenediol and Rosuvastatin
We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.
No Known Interaction Found
We did not find a documented interaction between Rosuvastatin and Androstenediol in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — there is often limited research on supplements and herbal products, especially around drug interactions.
If you decide to take both, the practical routine is simple: add one new thing at a time and note the date you started it. If the combination is going to disagree with you, it usually shows in the first days to a couple of weeks — and a start date turns “I’ve been feeling off” into something a pharmacist can actually work with. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.
Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

Why No Interaction Is Listed for Rosuvastatin
Interactions in our licensed database are recorded against drug classes, not just single drug names. Rosuvastatin is filed under 4 classifications — including hmg-coa reductase inhibitors ("statins"), hepatotoxic drugs, oral drugs. Androstenediol has documented interactions with 2 drug classes — the most serious being estrogens (moderate) and testosterone (moderate) — and none of Rosuvastatin’s classifications are among them.
Classification data comes from our licensed Natural Medicines dataset. A medication can belong to classes beyond those recorded there, so this describes how the check was run — it is not a safety guarantee.
Androstenediol Does Interact With Other Medications
Androstenediol has 47 moderate known drug interactions in our database — Rosuvastatin isn’t one of them. If you take anything else, check it against the full list below.

Questions About Androstenediol or Rosuvastatin
These are real questions from readers, answered by the pharmacists at HelloPharmacist — written by a person, not generated from a database. Each one covers Androstenediol or Rosuvastatin, not necessarily both, but if one is close to what you were about to ask it will usually go further than a database entry can:

- Can You Take Nattokinase With a 40 mg Statin? ›

See Every Supplement That Interacts With Rosuvastatin
This page covers Androstenediol only. If you take other supplements — a multivitamin, a sleep aid, something for joints — the Rosuvastatin page lists 63 supplements it has a documented interaction with, worst first, each one explained.
The most serious there right now: Activated Charcoal (major), Beer (major), Grapefruit (major), Siberian Cocklebur (major) and Wine (major).
By severity: 5 major · 48 moderate · 10 minor.
From our pharmacist’s overview on the Rosuvastatin page
“Rosuvastatin (Crestor, Ezallor) is a statin taken daily for years to lower cholesterol, and its supplement list deserves real scrutiny, not a quick skim. Five of the 63 ingredients on file carry a major rating, headed by grapefruit, which can raise statin blood levels, and by heavy drinking, since beer and wine compound the strain this…”

Where Androstenediol and Rosuvastatin Sit Against Everything Else
Out of every supplement and medication people look up on HelloPharmacist, here is where these two land this week — and which way each has been moving.
#1,099 of 1,452 supplements looked up here in the last 7 days
#9 of 2,830 medications looked up here in the last 7 days
Position among everything looked up on this site, not a measure of how commonly either one is used or how important it is. A supplement can climb this list because of a news story. It counts every request to the page, automated ones included, and nothing here identifies anyone.
Where does our data come from?
- Source: the Natural Medicines (TRC Healthcare) clinical database — the evidence-graded professional reference for herb & supplement interactions.
- Citation library: 103,510 references behind our interaction content, 65,311 of them resolved to verified PubMed/DOI sources. See every Androstenediol reference on this page ↓
- Freshness: we automatically re-check this combination every week — this pair was last verified September 13, 2026. The Androstenediol and Rosuvastatin records this page draws on were last updated July 10, 2026.
- What “no known interaction” means: no documented interaction in the sources above — not a guarantee of safety. Supplements are studied far less than prescription drugs, so we say exactly what the evidence supports, and nothing more.
About Androstenediol
What is Androstenediol?
- Boosting testosterone
- Building muscle and strength
- Enhancing athletic performance
- Anti-aging / general vitality
- Bodybuilding cutting or bulking cycles
Androstenediol is a prohormone (a precursor the body can convert into testosterone and other hormones) marketed to raise testosterone and build muscle, but solid human evidence for these benefits is lacking and it carries real hormonal risks. In the United States it is a Schedule III controlled substance and is banned in most competitive sports. Talk with a doctor or pharmacist before considering any product containing it.
Not a plant; a steroid hormone (prohormone) made synthetically or naturally in the body · Capsules, tablets, sublingual tablets, sprays (sold as 'prohormone' supplements)
An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Androstenediol is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Androstenediol record says about it on its own.
Androstenediol: dosing
There is no established safe or effective dose of androstenediol, and because it is a controlled substance, it is not a routine over-the-counter supplement. The body of research does not support a recommended amount. If you are considering any product that contains it, do not rely on label claims.

About Rosuvastatin
What Is Rosuvastatin Used For?
Brand names: Crestor, Ezallor
Rosuvastatin tablets are used alongside diet changes to lower LDL-C ("bad" cholesterol), total cholesterol, and triglycerides (blood fats), and to raise HDL-C ("good" cholesterol) in adults with high cholesterol or mixed cholesterol problems. They are also used in adults with very high triglycerides, a condition called primary dysbetalipoproteinemia (Type III, a genetic fat-metabolism disorder), and to slow the buildup of plaque in arteries (atherosclerosis).
In people without established heart disease but with multiple risk factors, rosuvastatin tablets can reduce the risk of heart attack, stroke, and procedures to open blocked arteries. For children and teens aged 8 and older with heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (HeFH, an inherited high-cholesterol condition), the tablet form is used to lower LDL-C after diet alone has not worked. Crestor tablets are also approved to treat homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (HoFH, a more severe inherited form) in adults and in children aged 7 and older.
Most-Reported Side Effects for Rosuvastatin
From FAERS, the FDA’s public side-effect reporting system (229,715 reports, all brands). Reports are voluntary and are not proof the drug caused the effect.

Rosuvastatin Is Linked to Lower Levels of One Nutrient
Natural Medicines records Rosuvastatin as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Androstenediol — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
