Here's the simple version: this isn't about how your body breaks down dapsone. Instead, it's about your skin and the sun. Dapsone can already make your skin more sensitive to sunlight, meaning you may burn faster or react more than usual. Angelica archangelica contains natural compounds called furanocoumarins that do the very same thing, whether you swallow it or rub it on your skin.

Put the two together and you could stack up that sun sensitivity, leading to easier sunburn, redness, or a rash. The evidence here is fairly limited, so I wouldn't panic, but it's smart to wear sunscreen, cover up, and limit long sun exposure. Before combining them, check with your pharmacist or doctor.

About Dapsone

What Is Dapsone Used For?

Brand names: Dapsone, Avlosulfon, Aczone

Dapsone tablets are used to treat dermatitis herpetiformis (a chronic, intensely itchy blistering skin condition) and leprosy (all forms, except where proven resistance to dapsone exists). For leprosy, dapsone tablets are typically used in combination with other anti-leprosy medicines.

Aczone Gel (dapsone gel, 7.5%) and dapsone gel are indicated for the topical treatment of acne vulgaris in patients 9 years of age and older. This topical form is applied to the skin and is not used for leprosy or dermatitis herpetiformis.
