Evidence from animal research suggests that extracts of bael seed and leaf can reduce blood glucose levels. Theoretically, bael might have additive effects with antidiabetes drugs and increase the risk of hypoglycemia. Monitor blood glucose levels closely. Dose adjustments might be necessary.

Here's the simple version: bael fruit may have a mild blood sugar lowering effect of its own, at least that's what some early animal studies suggest. Acarbose already works to keep your sugar from spiking after meals, so adding bael could, in theory, push your numbers a little lower than expected.

I want to be honest about the strength of this. We don't have solid human studies here, just lab and animal hints, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Acarbose by itself rarely causes low blood sugar, but combining it with other sugar-lowering things can. If you do use bael as a supplement, just keep an eye on your readings and watch for shakiness, sweating, or lightheadedness. Loop in your pharmacist or doctor before adding it so they can help you monitor.
